Several fraud situations at N26 and fans are calling it fake? Wow.

Just as nice as guys like Siegert, that are public cheerleader for N26 and are now asking for calming down. But if something like this happens to other banks like CB, S or VB, they could not hold back sarcasm and malice.

Something in the security concept is not working as it should. They will learn and adept.

Thanks, but I don‘t consider myself as a fanboi of N26. Please explain to me how they could transfer 80k€ in 24 hours, with a monthly limit of 20k€?

I‘m not saying no one got victim of a fraud, but the details seem odd.

Was there ever a day where you didn‘t had to insult someone in an online discussion?
Pathetic!

There is no insult and the word „fanboy“ was never written. So dohn’t change the topic and insult other people yourself.

You! accuse victims of faking the incident. This! is pathetic. And nothing else. And as N26 replaced the damage, it is Nonsenses too.

For your question about the limit... Do you have a business account? And what does your card(!!!) limit have to do with money transfers?

N26 itself confirmed the incidents and you call it fake? Seriously?

And the 2 numbers in your picture are for cash withdrawel and card payment. This is not the limit for peer to peer transactions ;)

And yeah. The limits on business accounts will be a little bit difference. Thats one of the main differences between private and business accounts of all banks.

And yes: not wanting to see and accept the reality is being a "fanboy".

I literally asked for official statements, bc I can’t find them.
N26 faq are implying a daily limit of 50k for outgoing transfers. Still below the 80k.

Again, not defending anyone but too many odds to blindly believe here.

Was not hard to find. So you didn't tried to find it?

https://www.gruenderszene.de/fintech/n26-axel-seitz-phishing

"Einen halben Tag nach der Presseanfrage von Gründerszene zu den beiden Fällen erhielten beide Kunden vom Kundenservice einen Anruf, dass sie das Geld erstattet bekommen."

I think quote that is enough confirmation to says it happened.

And this was not the first incident. Some month ago there was a thing with locked accounts, where the people couldn't even contact the customer service, as this is also locked behind the login.

Did you really READ all articles about it? If yes, you could imaging that two days are enough to get all 80000 euro.
As they changed he phone number, email and login and the customer could not use the chat anymore as it requires login to the app, he had at least a couple of days to work on reaching them!
And in my eyes 50000 Euro Daily limit is way too much for everyday usage.
That's why I like at DKB to set the regular limit and the possibility to temporary raise the limit by request (which is usually done in less than 1 hour)

I am a customer of one of these fintechs. I had my bank account frozen for multiple times because the fraud detection flagged PayPal transactions. That may sound like a good thing, but as for service:

- I couldn’t login anymore
- Had to find out myself my account was frozen
- No mail or phonecall about it was done
- They don’t have a phone number either
- Once you’re delivered to the hands of abuse departments, they will treat you as a criminal.

may I aks which bank you're talking about?

He's probably Dutch, so I think he's talking about bunq. I mean, having your account blocked can happen at any bank, but hmm, I wonder what "they will treat you as a criminal" exactly means.

I won't talk bad about them in public, I won't risk being kicked out for being negative (some fans have an attitude like 'if you don't like them, then go'. I just don't like to put all my eggs in one basket. I don't even do that with traditional banks.

"Treating like a criminal": well, I had two transactions from PayPal and then the compliance team closed my account. They didn't call me, didn't email me, didn't even send me a message on their own chat. I asked them why they closed my account. I got told: "We can't tell you, you are subject of an investigation." Then I asked: "Who complained?" "We can't tell you, Compliance team will contact you", I asked: "When will Compliance contact me?", I got told: "Sir, you are part of an investigation and can't give you any info"

I felt like I just lost my money. They can be more friendly. An hour later they unblocked my account. I never heard anything of them again. No apologies, no reason, nothing. In my opinion that's subject to improvement. I had this with a big bank too, but I was blocked because the employee had to switch my Student account to a Private account. And they apologized... :)

Will there be added any banks at all?
HVB/Unicredit said from the first talks until launch of AP one year passed. We can only hope the other banks are faster but it could still take some time.

Well, DKB is launching in April - apparently. Revolut is still "coming soon" - whatever that means, nothing from ING (rumour on Twitter was Q3). I assume Consorsbank won't take much longer (this or next month?).

Once the assumed exclusivity agreements with the launch banks fall, Monese will probably come aboard soon too.

Then the question is how long comdirect is going to take to implement the VPay Debit card. So plenty more to happen in Germany.

I don't think DKB will launch in April. They stated "Frühsommer" and they also said it will be after the release of Google Pay. My guess will be May/June.

If anyone wants/needs a free Revolut card now, they’re having a promotional offer now if you sign up using a referral link.
Mine is https://revolut.com/r/kristixlv

I don’t gain anything by promoting this, just wanted to give people a chance for a free card :)
And they’re supposed to launch Apple spay soon anyway, so.

So it seems the exclusivity has ended for the launch banks.

Viabuy is now aboard the Apple Pay train in Germany!

https://www.iphone-ticker.de/neuer-partner-viabuy-bietet-apple-pay-in-deutschland-an-139620/

Sadly no sign of Consorsbank, DKB (or of course ING). On the other hand ING finally (!) launched in Spain today after promising it for about two years. Also: Still nothing from Revolut. Pathetic, honestly. At this rate Sparkasse will probably implement Apple Pay before they do :p

Update: Monese and Consorsfinanz are also live. Seems like a staged rollout.

See here:
Monese: https://twitter.com/monese/status/1112980135026851842
Consorsfinanz: https://www.consorsfinanz.de

Also a large expansion has been announced in Denmark: Danske Bank is among one of many new larger banks launching soon. I wonder how long it will take for there to be new announcements in Germany... And it seems these roll-outs for Apple Pay in the first week of the month seem to be a regular thing now.

And viabuy is hell expensive.
Only of interest for people who's credit score must basically sub zero  Any other credit card out there (even prepaid - look at how inexpensive the ones by Sparkasse are in comparison) is a better deal.

bunq's public API is broken, Monese had a big outage yesterday and DKB credit card services are down right now. Weird how these things seem to come together at similar times...
