and if the big ones dont want to take part in Apple Pay, there is no reason apple is not going to start it here. there are a lot of players on the German market already providing Apple Pay in other countries...
this.

The list of potential players is long. And Apple Pay started with much fewer and much smaller partners in several markets.

So, what are they waiting for if not for one or two of the biggest market actors?

This really funny. At the beginning of the discussion we had ppl saying that Apple won't start without Sparkasse and lot of 'Sparkasse is not old, they are super modern' and not one source telling ppl that Sparkasse won't support Apple Pay and all of the reasons we had before are gone?!

The only reason we had for not having apple pay was 'apple wanna wait till Sparkasse is going NFC on mobile'... so y hasn't apple started AP here when Sparkasse is not going to support?!

Anything that is said during an official event means nothing really. He/she won't say "yeah we'll start with Apple Pay", because it is simply not allowed. The other source also is bound by an NDA, so really we know nothing. Now it's fun to read pages of speculations and hints, but the truth is, we won't know anything for sure until Apple announces is.

Our best bet would be earnings call tomorrow (but i dont think anything will be announced there) or WWDC with a big European launch. (Poland, Netherlands and Germany)

(and i dont know if its true but some polish people on twitter said Apple Pay will launch in the second half of June in poland)

We also had a Czech bank with a presentation for investors saying AP will start Q1 or Q2 depending on Apple...

I think there are a lot of rumours and some are true, some are not. But none is able to tell which one is on which side...

Just Apple can and maybe some higher ranked management staff members.

I belive it will be announced at WWDC with a big launch in Europe. (Germany, Netherlands, Poland, Czech Republic and maybe Austria)

So, bunq is most certainly still available with a new account! It actually came it quite handy at Subway today (not that much of a regular eater there, but prefer it over other fast food chains when I'm on the go).

They only accepted Girocard and Maestro, boon/bunq MC didn't work. Both the bunq cards give you that little bit of extra coverage with Apple Pay here.

On a side note: Does anyone know if it is possible to rearrange the cards on the Apple Watch? Sadly my selection on the iPhone doesn't sync with the watch and dragging and dropping doesn't work either :/

You can set a default card in the watch app. That one will show first

I know that... I was just hoping to be able to drag and drop the cards, so that I don't need to keep swiping between the most important ones... But seems like I'll have to wait for iOS 12/watchOS 5 :D

I am a bit puzzled by what you mean, you ( as another member said) you can make a card as default, and then you have to swipe through in the order you added the cards. The phone is not going to mind read which one you want to use, sometimes in life you have to make the decision

It has nothing to do with mind reading. It's easy to understand: When you have multiple cards you can rearrange them on your iPhone by drag and drop.

On the watch that's not possible, so all the cards are added in the order they were added to Wallet. That means if I want to frequently use the last card I added, I need to swipe past 5 other cards when I could - instead - just drag and drop it to the second position. There are a couple of threads on reddit about this problem as well.

Anyway, sorry for the distraction. Back to #ApplePay in Germany :)

Bis jetzt immer noch keine ominösen "Insider", die den baldigen Start von AP prophezeien. Na dann könnte es ja heute was werden! :D

Excuse me, but would it be possible for you to stick to the universal language here in the MacRumors forum? That would be English by the way...

The iOS market share for Poland isn’t even 10%, why would they launch in Poland? Just to hit google and Samsung Pay?!

Ukraine (18%) and Norway (53%) does make sense!
