My bet is that it won't work. Tesco receipts are now showing device verified which would seem to indicate that the card readers can support it, but somewhere it appears to have been disabled/blocked for some reason

It could be down to the fact if someone spent £35 and used a physical card w/contactless and the option wasn't greyed out on the self-service checkouts they might be annoyed if they tapped to pay and it didn't work.

In regards to Tesco AmEx Apple Pay has been working since they updated the PIN terminals for our new contactless Clubcards.

I thought that may be the case! This would suggest that the merchant is responsible for fixing this but that can't be the case with McDonalds since they haven't noticeably updated anything?

I always thought the problem was linked to the buggy contactless Amex cards that just don't work in some retailers. "Sorry you'll have to pop it in, Amex contactless doesn't work here!"

Perhaps customer feedback has made them sort the ongoing issues out?

Weird occurrence today, I went to pay with my watch and found no cards registered, pulled out my phone, no cards registered...

I only re-registered all my cards on Tuesday evening as I got a new phone, all the texts confirming registration are still on my phone from Tuesday so it's not like I imagined doing it. I had to register all 3 cards (from 3 different banks) to both my iPhone and watch again this afternoon...

That's a bit concerning. I'd hate to come to pay and not have any of my cards available. Are you running the beta or recently replaced your phone or anything?

Not sure if many of you like having loyalty cards in wallet but if you do and the company doesn't support it (looking right at you Nectar) then there's an app called Phyre that lets you add cards which you can then export to wallet. Whether they scan or not at the checkout completely depends on the scanners the retailer uses though. Thought it was worth mentioning. :)

Does it work any better (that means, does it work at all) than Stocard?
I have not been able to get any barcode to scan at any shop…
Just an exercise in frustration.

Yikes! Doesn't sound good.
I have become so nonchalant that I only go about with my keys and iPhone… I just assume it is all there. :)

As I said, I got a new handset on Tuesday, the weird part was the fact I added all the cards back to both the phone and the watch (watch deleted them when I paired to the new phone) on Tuesday evening. The cards were Halifax Debit, Starling Debit and Barclaycard, all were added successfully and all had confirmation texts arrive to say they were added.

Here's the Halifax texts, (first 2 for iPhone and second 2 for watch).

That's really weird. Have you contacted your bank or anything?

did you maybe sign out of icloud at some point after setting up your new phone, and then sign in again?

So with Apple now applying for trademarks for Apple cash maybe we will soon see P2P Apple Pay soon. It might be too soon to have it on iOS 11 launch, but maybe before the end of the year.

I doubt it would be anything to do with the bank, as it was 3 separate banks involved.

I honestly can't remember, I may have, but I think it was more likely before setting up ApplePay as the very last thing I did was re-pair to my Apple Watch and I only added the cards after the watch set up (or I wouldn't have been able to add the cards back to the watch).

If that app works with nectar in Sainsbury's please let me know. Want to get rid of the nectar card.

Yesterday in Tesco I scanned my Clubcard from my Apple Watch but and then paid with Apple Pay. So simple no need for my wallet. All Tesco need to do now is get rid of £30 limit when integrate Clubcard with tap to pay

Indeed we do.

And in terms of linking loyalty cards with Apple Pay Sainsbury's need to do the same with Nectar.
