I have been able to add my new HSBC credit card, so I phoned them up for the second time today. I was told to try again in 3 business days as every time I've tried and failed it is now probably stopping it.

This is just to give them time to sort out the issue, confirmed now as VISA-HSBC. I have been told 30 days.

Monday/Tuesday for Lloyds/TSB etc?

If the Lloyds Banking Group go ahead I'd imagine it'll be the early hours of Tuesday morning a la Santander, NatWest etc.

I'm sure this has been mentioned earlier on in the thread but Sainsbury's are going to roll out contactless from next month in a few, select stores and through Christmas with all of them ready for the first half of 2016.

Hate to break it to you, but I haven't been able to add my HSBC credit card for nearly a month. Nothing they've done has made any difference. The card is fine, I've bought things with it the old fashioned way, but I just can't add it to Apple Pay on any device I own.

Since they're telling me nothing's wrong from their end, I've given up on it at this point.

Is it only people with HSBC that are having problems? They really seem to have screwed up the whole Apple Pay thing if it is. First the they were dropped to 2nd tier partners with no notice and now this. I surprised how poor they've been, as in other areas they are quite good.

Maybe this is why they delayed in the first place as not everything was in place. It is bizarre though I wiped my watch the other day and added my HSBC and FirstDirect cards for a third time with no issue whatsoever.

I really feel for people with these problems. It would drive me absolutely nuts. Especially when it's impossible to either get a straight answer as to the cause of the problem or as to when it is expected to be fixed.

It's so easy today to keep people properly informed about such problems and the progress being made. Alas corporations only use the likes of Twitter for patting themselves on the back or for posting meaningless and banal responses to equally meaningless and banal post by followers.

It's only easy to keep people informed if you know the information yourself. I sincerely think that HSBC/fd were not aware of what the route cause of the problem was. When you think about it, Apple Pay is a complex interaction between three large multinational corporations (each which will have new and also legacy systems), where security is key and any changes to the system require thorough inspection and care in development and deployment.

Imagine the impact if something went wrong if VISA rushed out a fix for Apple Pay; the consequences are far higher than when Apple push out buggy iOS betas, for example.

Im wondering whether its such a minority issue that they aren't even bothering to fix it. I don't know anyone else with the same issue I'm having. Ive tried and tried, waited 2 weeks, and tried again, but my credit card point blank refuses. At least the apple watch app thinks about it before rejecting; wallet/passbook rejects it outright without a split second's thought.

No joy with Lloyds yet!!!!

Yes, it's very much Autumnal now, isn't it?!

If the Lloyds Banking Group are touting Autumn 2015 why bother listing the Terms and Conditons re: Apple Pay?

The launch partners started showing theirs in the week preceding July's release date!

According to Google, Astronomical Autumn starts on September 23

The launch partners were showing it from WWDC. Still didn't go live until 14th.

I have just had a letter from Lloyds bank, saying the contact less limit is increasing to £30.00 from 1/9/15.
I was wondering if that could be the date they instigate Apple pay? I know there is not much time but I don't think it takes long to fire it up.

I thought the increase is being rolled out across retailers from 1st sept, so it's not up to the banks but the retailers themselves to do this?

It'll be messy for a few months if so; walk into Waitrose, spend £29 no bother and not be able to in M&S (for example).
