Well Luton has something Nottingham doesn't! They still have the crappy Chip & PIN terminals they've had since I worked for the company... Ten years ago.
Hmm... This was the express which is in the shopping centre. I'll try and scout out my local 'normal' tesco at Towcester later as I'm intrigued now...

I haven't seen that with TSB. What is the offer valid on?

Update: just seen its for Classic Plus Accounts. I only have Classic

Ah, that's a shame. If you credit the account with £500/month and use Internet Banking/paperless correspondence you can upgrade to the Classic Plus Account. Then between now and through December 2016 you could earn up to £100/month (capped) using Apple Pay.

My local Tesco Metro has contactless capable PIN pads (but the facility wasn't switched on last Monday) but I wonder if it's just "normal" Tesco stores which haven't been upgraded yet?

They've got a good iTunes offer on at the moment, hence why I need to pop in and take a look...
(off topic but 3x£15 for £10 off, clubcard points, another £20 card with a voucher from their mag, more points, plus 150 points for spending over £50 - extreme couponing lol)

So are we 100% sure that M&S and Waitrose have no limit? I know the Apple Stores are ok for transactions only limited to your available funds.

My local Waitrose is a big store and they only updated their terminals to £30 for ApplePay so its still seems to be store specific. My local M&S does seem to have a >£30 limit.

Please don't take this the wrong way but have you tried over £30 in Waitrose? The staff are lovely but don't understand in mine!

I did notice that Buckingham Waitrose also had the slightly changes self scan whereby you don't need to rescan your payment card at the end. I only bought £11 in there though so I still don't know whether this software change is tied in with the payment side being upgraded as well.

Oh crumbs, asked the cashier at BP this morning if they'd upped their Apple Pay limit... "Yes it's £30", "no" I politely reply "that's your contactless limit, Apple Pay, if it's enabled can be higher". Some guy who seemed to work for BP and was about to go through the staff door chimed in with "it won't be higher than £30 because of the security", I tired to explain that it's more secure than a normal contactless card and that Waitrose had upped theirs as I spent £200 in there the other weekend, and at that point gave up, said thank you for my nectar points and left... I should have just tried it (rumoured to be November)....

Yeah I shop in there every week of varying amounts. I only use Self Scan.

When the total is less than £30, the terminal says 'Please swipe, tap or insert your card'

When the total is over £30, the terminal says 'Please insert your card'. I tried ApplePay anyway and nothing happened.

These terminals also require you to swipe the same card that you used to release the Barcode reader. It sounds like some stores have different terminals than others :-/

That must be it then. When Towcester self-scan was updated there was a little printed piece of paper saying the terminal had had an update and explained you didn't need to swipe the card any more.
They must be rolling it out in phases..

Weirdly my local Co-Op had a sign around the self service checkouts the other week saying transactions for Apple Pay over £30 would work; now they state it's for £30 or less.

My local Morrison's won't do any form of Apple Pay over £30 either. Shame as I would have earned 4% with Santander as well as getting 7p off per litre of fuel too!

Towcester Tesco hasn't been updated either. My local village doctors surgery has contactless so husband's prescription paid for by Watch too - we're getting there...

I got a reply from Waitrose customer service, and we can stop using baskets when we use Apple Pay and can go for the biggest trolleys they have, their terminals have been upgraded from £30 to £10,000.

I wish that were true. Did a self scan today for £35......no Apple Pay

It looks like it's dependent on whether the self scan checkouts have been upgraded.

I spent £217 in our local one on Saturday with no issues except the look of alarm on the husbands face at how easy it was...

I paid for my iPhone 6s plus with my Apple Watch, very quick and easy, but too tempting......

Well one of my favourite '80s songs is "Temptation" by Heaven 17 so I always give into it haha!

Am in Manchester tomorrow for the day so really will have to try and resist visiting the Apple Store in the Arndale Centre!

Do you mean loyalty cards (Tesco Clubcard, My Waitrose, Nectar) ?
I've noticed Tesco's contactless readers (in stores that have them) are active when scanning the shopping (before the pay by card button is pressed). Maybe they are implementing some sort of NFC loyalty card.
