Prepaid like American Express.

From the American Express website:

Which American Express Cards are eligible for Apple Pay?

  • An eligible Card is an active UK American Express issued Personal or Small Business Credit or Charge Card
  • Your current Card does not need to be contactless in order to use Apple Pay
  • American Express Corporate Cards and Pre-paid Cards are not eligible
  • See how to add your Card now
So unfortunately it looks the like the answer is no, sorry.

I had a coupon for 7p off per litre of fuel at Morrison's that expired yesterday.

I (foolishly) assumed their PFS wouldn't be enabled for contactless payments/Apple Pay *but* their kiosks are-I missed out on Santander's bonus this time but (assuming) my car runs OK I'll be back there earning 6% instead of the usual 3% until the promo expires.

Tesco on Cromer Road, Norwich is now Contactless and working. However ones nearby, in Drayton, Thorpe Marriott and Taverham haven't got new readers yet.

Great to see more and more Tesco stores are finally being enabled for contactless payments.

It'd be great to see actual limitless Apple Pay support at Tesco. Even better if they implemented the clubcard through Apple Pay like Walgreens in America. If only...

We can but hope. Once they've enabled Apple Pay for Tesco Bank Visa Debit cards (early next year) I'm hoping they'll finally implement Clubcard for Wallet.

I use their "Your Community" forum and mentioned Walgreen's and their loyalty scheme... So fingers crossed!

Using Tesco's Store Locator facility it *looks* like Tesco Express/Metro stores are getting contactless readers installed first before their superstores/Tesco Extra sites?

I don't think we will see limitless as they want you to use their Payqwick app to do that.

Somone needs to shame them up against Waitrose given theirs is a good high limit (if the tills have been updated).
Used it in Luton today on the self service tills, took several attempts but that was probably because I was trying to be inconspicuous...

Do you know if the support Amex Apple-Pay too?

Morrison's and Boots (certainly in Derby) need to be shamed too then. Despite Boots being a 'launch partner' anything over £30 still requires Chip & PIN. The same goes for Morrison's too!

I downloaded this app last night:

Stocard - Loyalty Cards Wallet by Stocard
https://appsto.re/gb/eX7FA.i

Added a bunch of my store cards to my Wallet, including Clubcard. I'll be giving it a test run today.

How did you find that on the store locator?

Just an update to the Tesco's near me in Norwich...

Cromer Road Express - Contactless Enabled
Taverham Express - Contactless Enabled
Acres Way Express - No
Drayton (Regular Tesco) - No

Sorry-I should have said using the Store Locator on Tesco's website I was able to establish which ones were Express/Metro and which ones were Superstores/Extra sites.

From that I then deduced that smaller stores were going contactless first.

I say this, but I've just tried to use it at the self serve and it wouldn't scan :(

I tried this some time ago. Trouble is the scanners at Tesco and *I think* Waitrose are the older (2D? I may have that wrong) ones which can't scan mobile phone screens in the same way, say, Cineworld can when you should with your phone or watch and the QR code for your cinema tickets.

Annoying really as ditching all the loyalty cards would be fantastic.

I really don't see that becoming a mainstream payment system though, so once that dies they'll hopefully jump on board... I can dream can't I? :p

Granted this relates to the Clubcard app but might be worth a try (assuming you didn't already do this)?
