Have spotted an advert for Morrison's in the Daily Mirror advertising the fact all of their stores offer contactless, Apple and Android Pay.

Just a shame they don't say it's capped at £30!

Edit: still unable to scan my Clubcard from within the app :-(
Does the clubcard from the Clubcard app not scan for you? Or am I misunderstanding the problem?

Sorry. Was half asleep (fourth night in a row).

The barcode within the Clubcard app. I know certain customers in London, Edinburgh and somewhere else are able to add it to the Wallet app itself.

Didn't try it just as the self service area was busy but I spent over £30.00. The contactless button on the terminal greyed out but it continue to show the contactless logo on the terminal.

So I'm hoping Tesco have enabled Apple/Android Pay for higher value payments.

So did you try Apple Pay? Sounds exciting! Be great to see a push for higher value payments. Question for you @iGeek2014 are you still using iOS 10 beta? If so are you seeing this? The icon for the card is missing. I've reported it as a cosmetic bug but it'd be interesting to see if others are experiencing it.

I didn't try Apple Pay for >£30 but will try again next Saturday and see what happens.

I stopped using the iOS 10 Beta but if I opt in again before the final version lands come September I'll let you know.

One thing I like about that notification is the fact it shows more detail now compared to iOS 9?

Well something interesting happened this morning.

Called in at the One Stop in Heanor for the papers.

Used Apple Pay on my iPhone (easier than the Watch in that branch due to the height of the counter/angle of the PIN terminal).

Instead of saying No Cardholder Verification on my receipt it now says: "Verified by Device PIN".

So I'm hoping that means One Stop (and subsequently Tesco, whom own them) will be Apple Pay for £30 and above!

That's great news. I always check receipts to see if the merchant has it set up for Apple Pay. It's good to see it's branching out!

Well I've been for a Toby Carvery breakfast this morning.

Looks like they accept Apple Pay over £30 too because the receipt says "Verified by Consumer Device".

I'm off to Toby carvery on Sunday with a party of 5 so it will definitely come to more than £30. I will give it a try and report back.

Noticed Tesco Extra at Kingston Park has updated their machines, the only extra store in the Newcastle/Gateshead area by the looks of it as other nearby stores that I go to still have the old ones.

I've been to the store at Heanor and they've the old Chip & PIN terminals too.

Don't know if the message is shown in all Tesco stores but if it says "If you're paying by a Chip Card.." at a self service checkout then it means contactless terminals are expected to be installed soon.

I've just opened a NatWest account for the Direct Debit rewards.

Received my Debit card today. The SMS verification and call NatWest were present but there was a new feature: verification via the app!

I think there's a post further back in this thread where someone said they've removed the signs at the POS in terms of Apple Pay.

IMHO Apple should remove those retailers touting Apple Pay but it's capped at £30 from it's website.
I remember seeing BP respond to a tweet saying they were rolling >£30 out to all their locations and will be complete by Autumn.

Can't get Apple Pay to work in Morrisons at all. Tried a few times now and even though the iPhone gets a successful message the terminal doesn't accept it and I then have to use the credit card. This is with an Amex card. Anybody else use Morrisons OK ?

I'm pretty sure I've read earlier on in this thread that American Express via Apple Pay is problematic in a lot of stores, including Morrison's.

Just been to a Toby Carvery and it requires the card to be inserted for anything over £30.

Oh, that's a shame given what my receipt said t'other day.

Really do wish more retailers would realise Apple Pay is much more secure than a bog standard plastic contactless card!

Edit: spent over £30 at Tesco. Phone pinged and showed 'Done' but wouldn't work.

Just seen on MoneySavingExpert that Tesco are offering 500 clubcard points to people who sign up to PayQwik.
I wish they'd give that up already...

I will admit I've downloaded the app to see what it's like but unless you live in select regions (or visit frequently) then it's either Chip & PIN or contactless (where supported).

In fact the store in which I work has removed the PayQwik option on the self service terminals.

Used Apple Pay on my Watch this morning and even though it's 13 months old now people still looked at me wondering what I was doing LOL.

Haha, tell me about it! People seem to have adjusted to seeing phones being used to pay for things as I rarely get comments any more when paying with my iPhone, but when I use my watch it's like that think I've travelled back in time from the year 2050 or something.

I think they were more curious than anything but it's sometimes great to see people's reactions.

Our bill came to over £30 and I wasn't able to pay with apple pay.

On another note I've been able to use Apple pay in more obscure places. There is a cafe in the town hall where I've been able to pay twice using Apple pay. I also used it to pay at Argosy Toys yesterday. In fact I used Apple pay for all my transactions yesterday (Cafe, Argosy and Tesco).
