Ah that's a shame. I'm using it more and more. Aldi, Morrisons, my local butcher, Home Bargains, Pret, Boots and now Tesco. It's at the point for me where I use it more than Chip & PIN.

I think there's an Aldi in Heanor but I don't know; seem to be spending 80% of my life at work at the moment LOL.

Agree re: loyalty cards. Still think it's daft Walgreen's have implemented their rewards card into Wallet but Boots whom they have a majority stake in have a poor app and no option to store it in Wallet (bar using Stocard of course, and I'm sure I saw on MSE Boots are now refusing unless the proper Advantage Card is presented).

Re: Apple Pay on the web

It must be an oversight at the Australian Apple Pay site makes reference to it also.

It's mentioned in the iOS 10 preview on the UK site so I'm hoping we'll get the functionality. At least I will be able to use it!
Hopefully! I'd love to see websites implement this. And plus, I'm sure at the keynote they had a slide up with retailers that have said they'll implement this on their websites and I'm sure I saw John Lewis...

(Thought I'd reply in this thread since I didn't wanna hijack that one with our UK talk haha)

EDIT: attached the slide I meant.

Haha. Good to see some UK retailers on there. Can shop at Top Man without the "club bangers" now ;-)

Just downloaded iOS 10 to my iPhone 6s Plus. Apple Pay is mentioned in Settings>Safari AND you can type Apple Pay into the Maps app and it shows nearby retailers. Woo!

Hey @iGeek2014 I was in my Tesco Extra again at the weekend and at the scan as you shop checkout tills (which I assume are the same as self-service machines in terms of checking-out) at the checkout screen the card reader was ready for contactless without me even pressing which method I'd like to pay. So this sounds like it's implemented differently to your Tesco Metro?

I haven't visited for some time but it does sound like it's set up differently based on previous transactions.

Just wish my nearby Tesco stores (and the one I work in!) had contactless.

My BP has lost the signage around the chip &PIN machines but when asked she said it was still a £30 limit for Apple Pay. The place was rammed so I didn't try it anyway...

Didn't realise I was 14p short for my Starbucks order when I paid with my Starbucks card the other day. Paid the remaining balance with Apple Pay.

Do I get an award for the smallest Apple Pay transaction?

Haha. Indeed you do... But it's good to know you can pay the rest with Apple Pay when you're caught short in Starbucks!

So.. Waitrose have reintroduced "proper" Apple Pay... Presented my Natwest card on my watch, promptly declined, same when using the physical card. Cue Natwest's fraud department sending me texts as they'd blocked my card (I'd bought £60 of diesel on the physical card just 10 minutes before). Have no idea whether it was over a certain amount, and the card was only back on the watch for a few days (I had to reset and go through a re-pair), but I'd used it for small, lunch amounts fine all week. At least Apple Pay is properly back, if Natwest block my full shopping amount again, I will be having words ;)

Is that official? Tried Apple Pay with self scan in Portishead with self scan app about a week ago, Apple Pay was still limited to 30 quid then.

No, just what I've seen today - this is in Towcester. I know last time we were in the trial but Buckingham wasn't.
It wasn't enabled in Towcester a week or two ago, and it's not linked to the mobile scanning as towcester's had this for a while.

Hopefully Waitrose are >£30 for Apple Pay now.

Still haven't had chance to visit the branch in Ashbourne to see if the mobile scanning app works there.

Could have sworn I read somewhere over the weekend that people would be happy to use biometrics to pay for their goods in a shop; therefore any store accepting contactless could jump ahead and enable it for Apple Pay/Android Pay where people are using their fingerprints/Watch to complete.

Update: one perk of working overnight for Tesco? Getting to see an external party installing contactless terminals ;-).

Edit: oh yes... We're finally contactless. And it worked a treat with my Watch! Whoop!!

In Tesco? Cool. I always tap the 'contactless' button. So I guess I can now just wave my phone in front of the terminal and it'll auto-select it for me?

Yes in Tesco. There's no need to tap the contactless option anymore; I just pre-arm my iPhone/Watch and it does it. One thing I've noticed where I work is the PayQwik button has disappeared!

I'd be very surprised if they continue with that PayQwik venture. I can't imagine it's very popular!

Have spotted an advert for Morrison's in the Daily Mirror advertising the fact all of their stores offer contactless, Apple and Android Pay.

Just a shame they don't say it's capped at £30!

Edit: still unable to scan my Clubcard from within the app :-(
