I'd be hopeful guys. I got my 6s plus from John Lewis when Apple were all sold out. And when asking over the week they have been expecting a big shipment since the Pro was released so let's hope this is it. If it's true and you've all got orders then I'm happy!
Either way you are now 'legends' status on mac rumours for finding it in stock lol lol

Can't blame you if John Lewis don't deliver

By comparison, John Lewis has only 65 leather iPhone cases in stock, and 300 ish rose gold 6Ss. Yet 500 Pencils? Doubt it.

This is the third post from me expressing severe doubt but I'd love to be wrong! Hahahaha

I think they've just logged in a massive shipment, Apple probably promised to deliver a certain amount and it's finally arrived :)

So, the flagship Apple Stores in the UK get no more than 25 per shipment and John Lewis manages to get 500?

Sorry to be negative guys, but unless every Apple Store in the country becomes a Pencil and Keyboard emporium this seems like a technical glitch.
No, it makes perfect sense. The 25 are per store. We're talking about a shipment for the whole of John Lewis, not for an individual store, so it could well be 500+ :)

Those numbers aren't that big. They have probably just made their entire inventory available online because they offer click and collect, they have 40 odd stores (according to wikipedia) so thats around 12 per store, which isn't that many and probably nowhere near how many Apple have been sending out, if you take into account all the Apple stores & online orders, there will be a silent majority who are receiving their online orders and have no need to ask for updates on shipping times etc.

And the keyboards? There have been extremely few keyboard sightings in any store. Manchester got three a few days ago. London stores have never had any. And John Lewis says they have 300 - at 9pm.

Now my order isn't showing in my account because of "high demand".

If tomorrow Apple stores have loads then I'll believe it.

I just hope it's true so that those people who bought ten in store and are trying to sell them at 200 pounds get left selling none! THEN HAVE TO RETURN THEM SO DECENT FOLK CAN BUY THEM

Don't come crying to me on Saturday.

I'll be at the Apple Store at 9:30 tomorrow morning.
Blimey - you were quick with the reply! Anyway, as edited after I posted that, I fear you might be right. I'm not cancelling my Apple only order just yet...

Finally got mine tonight from Trafford Centre through business team (called me yesterday and I paid over phone so they could hold it). Sod's law that I could have just stayed at home (and not endured pre Black Friday shopping madness) and ordered from JL!

Yeah I'm not cancelling my Apple order till I have this pencil in my hand. Fingers crossed. I'll update if/when I get a dispatch email.

Haha. Sorry if my reply seemed snarky, of course I'd love to be wrong and for this mess to be behind us. But with the amount of disappointment (after positive signs) I'm just so cynical!

But we're talking about a distribution centre here, not a store, so an evening update does make sense. These places often get deliverys in the afternoons / early evening that are then loaded and sorted to be shipped out to the stores overnight. Hence they would appear on the website (which are run from the distribution centres) now.

John Lewis are probably one of Apple's most important UK resellers (excluding iPhones of course) thanks to their free extended warranty. So they could well have just received a big batch of pencils and keyboards.

I did register for an in-stock email notification. Nothing received yet...

I ordered a keyboard. Click and collect.

There is a possibility that John Lewis have these is stock tomorrow in which case I can cancel my order easily enough; but if not then on Saturday I have my keyboard and the smart cover goes back to Apple.
