Why? The EU wanted to give people more choice. China wants to give people less choice
Yoh have the Choice to go to lagdroid. iOS shouldn’t be forced to Behave like lagdroid because you don’t want to go use an inferior Os. Making it work like it and trying to force apple to bring its software like iMessage and FaceTime to lagdroid is ridiculous.

In fact, demanding apple to bring iMessage to lagdroid when SMS has always worked, RCS is coming and there are tons of messaging apps is no different than china forcing apple to remove apps. I
Both are government overstepping.

It’s quite valid.
It's even less valid as saying that the US is a third-world s***hole just because companies lobby the government and make people's lives worse.

Who is name calling? It’s a (crappy) Os lol. It’s not like I’m calling a person a name. That’s a tad dramatic.
(Oops, I hit a language barrier. Embarrassing.) Still, the fact you're saying "lagdroid" but refusing to elaborate further doesn't exactly validate your point.

if only one could install any app without overarching co control and blessing from apple... oh wait, it comes to the UE ❤️🤩

Time for Apple to finish the job and withdraw from China completely.

hahaha, yeah, right... apple... that cares only about it's bottomline will definitely do that 🤣

Foxconn is HQed in Taiwan but does most of its manufacturing, including of iPhones, in mainland China.

And that's Apple's fault. Apple could have specified any country for manufacture, including the US.

But no, China was cheaper, gotta protect those profit margins at all costs, right?

A moot point because they were already blocked by all the Internet service providers. Also any Chinese users that didn't want all their iCloud data syphoned up by The Party would have already set up foreign Apple IDs years ago. funnily enough when I arrived in China in 2012 I could still use Google there and it was only after the umbrella movement that Instagram was blocked in China. (Edit: damn that was nearly a decade ago now!)

Look at the crap Apple has been giving the EU for the past months/year over it's DMA (Digital Markets Act) requirements, they have moaned, complained, gone to court, still moaned and complained, rumoured to leave the EU if Apple was forced to comply with certain rulings and yet when China tells Apple to comply with it's rulings/law, Apple complies with nothing more than 'we comply with the law even if we disagree'. That is not exactly how Apple behaved with the EU was it. Just goes to show how important China is to Apple because when China say's 'jump' Apple replies with 'how High'. When the EU tells Apple to 'jump', Apple replies with 'F off, we'll see you in court'.
Perhaps because these are apps that Apple makes available in the App Store, and not the App Store itself (as in the EU)?

Just some slight differences.

If the owners of WhatsApp, Telegram, Signals and Threads were to take the Chinese gov't to court, that would be comparable with what happened in the EU. Apple is the middle man here.

If you start a company would you go with a less proven and more expensive production method?

There are always challenges when you want to succeed. Very few companies do.
