So I finished my second interview two days ago and received an email "Invitation to Complete the Official Online Application". Is it safe to say that I've moved up to the third interview? I'm really excited/nervous about all of this...this would be my first job right after college (3 day old alumni).

Just went through and had a lot of fun. I won't spill what I saw as I signed a NDA saying that I cannot.

Also, if I get the job, I'll be deleting everything from here and any other forums like this one as keeping them will indeed be a sure-fire way to lose the job...

If I get it, you'll know why you haven't heard from me. If I don't then I'll be here to stay for another 6 months.

All I'll say about the hiring event is that it is really inspiring and if you wish to find out about it, then apply for a job and hope to get invited...

What position did you apply for? Sounds like genius to me...

Yes, the hiring event is inspiring! It's even boosting!

You are absolutely right to take steps forward by perhaps deleting all of your posts in the future, however, I have to let you know that even if forbidden to some extent (nothing about the company must leak), you are allowed to be on forums, on twitter, facebook, whatever, as much as other Apple employees do.

I recently talked to a Genius who has a blog, a twitter account, and no issues. Just because he lays low and doesn't talk about Apple.

"What is in the company remains in the company". Breaking this rule will get you fired.

----------

Well aren't you special. I was on the inside of Apple Retail for 3 years and still posted on MacRumors. Mainly because employees never got a whiff of what was coming up. So you're not as special as you think you are.

Dude, I never told I was special.

However, YOU told it.

I am just a former musician who mistakely broke a NDA and got my ass kicked ten ways to Sunday.

Over.

Unsuccessful yet still inspired.

Was unsuccessful with Apple. Despite this, their group interview was still well planned and enjoyable and I'm thankful for the opportunity.

If you are also unsuccessful, it doesn't mean you can't re-apply in six months. They said so themselves. Truth is, you are still given the opportunity to improve yourself by attending workshops, observing the Genius during your appointment, or just walk in and observe the guys working there; and you may be surprised at exactly how much you have learned. Then you can go to your second try ready to tackle it on more effectively and hopefully better.

I sincerely believe that you'll be likely considered for a one-on-one if you can show them that you have truly learnt what it is to be an Apple Retail employee and can show them you have improved by a lot since last time you were at their Hiring event. Six months isn't all that long really, however, it is still a good enough timespan to improve heaps.

Had my final interview Tuesday and it went extremely well. Yesterday I was emailed about the background check. Seems like a good sign!

So?

How was the 5th time?

I'm a bit perplexed. It's about the situation. Apple lets you again go through something that can be done only each 6 months. You have spent an incredible amount of time being interviewed.

For such an innovative company, this is a pretty outdated recruiting process. They need to change this. They are missing on fantastic employees because some people just won't give more than an interview to a company... Ever heard about purple squirrels?

So I went along to a seminar last year. No luck. I can see why, that's fair enough.

Left it 6months and have applied again online.

Now it's been a month since that and I haven't heard anything.. Is this just bad timing with a seminar as I didn't wait this long first time around.

If they think 'Jeees. Not this guy again' do you get a 'Not interested' email or are you just ignored?

So i got to the third interview for bristol but didn't get in. However the guy who was doing them told me to contact him directly in six months and he will "action my application". Has anyone else had this situation? will i have to go through all 3 seminars again?

"Hi everyone,

We are very excited to be meeting you all at our group interview on Thursday!

Please remember to arrive 15 mins prior to your session time, as we have some paperwork for you to fill out before the group interviews commence.

We're looking forward to hearing your thoughts and experiences and most of all, finding out more about each of you.

There is no need to bring anything with you and we ask that you dress in smart casual attire (business suits not necessary).

Please let us know if you are unable to attend."

A little nervous

Are you a glutton for punishment?

You don't want to work for them anyway unless you have no skills what so ever. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/06/24/b...yal-but-short-on-pay.html?_r=2&pagewanted=all

That article pretty much explains why I liked the Apple stores for the first year they were open and why today I try to avoid them like the plague.

I was just offered a job at an apple store, I took it instantly. Im going to have a great time working for them. It was well worth the waiting game and the process of getting hired, but the juice is going to be tasting sweet for quite some time now. Im on the good side of the pay scale too =D

Congrats! Hope you have an amazing time :) can I ask you, did you get it the first time? It's just because I didn't get it in the third interview in April and am wondering what happens next as I was told to contract them this October.

If they asked you to keep in contact I totally would follow up on that lead. Having a relationship with a manager is a great way to stand out from the crowd.

This was my 2nd time apply and going through the seminars/interviews they had asked if i had been interviewed b4 and i said that i made it through the seminar last time but the timing was wrong for the position i was looking for. Good luck on your quest to make it into the Apple Team, if your adamant about working for them they will surely take notice. Best wishes.

I'm living in Adelaide and applied online a few months back.

At the start of my two-week holiday in Melbourne (yesterday) I got a call from a Jess from Apple hiring.

It took a few months to get a reply? That's kinda reassuring. I applied online to my local Apple store (which hasn't actually opened yet) a week ago and haven't heard anything back.

Can anyone shed some light on how long they waited for an invitation to a recruitment seminar (in the UK, specifically)?

Took about a month for me.

But with all the changes to recruitment lately, I'm not sure what the deal is anymore.

As it's a new store though they're going to have to hire people. Ha.

Finally.

After being in the interview process for a little under a year in the pipeline, I got offered a job at my local Apple Store. A few days ago, I was emailed information on how to setup my internal employee login, AppleConnect. The only thing I have access to that's AppleConnect related is something called myPage, a virtual timeline which Apple created that helps you get acquainted with what's going to happen next as an Apple employee. During your first day of training, your permissions are extended and you are given more access to more applications. I get welcomed to the family on October 18th and start CORE training on the 20th with an instore date of approximately October 23rd.

Also, if it makes things any better for some of you, I'm 17 years of age and the documents which you sign have subsections where you must agree to certain terms if you're under age so it definitely is accepted by Apple. If you're under 18 and you were given an interview, push through with it all the way AND DON'T STOP. A company can't morally retract an offer over the sheer fact of age and I'm pretty sure (at least in NJ), it's against the DOL's legal standards.

Good luck to the rest of you still in the process! :)

Hi, I have a question that I can't seem to find the answer to. I just participated in a hiring seminar yesterday, and I'm pretty nervous. I wanted to send a follow-up email to the person who sent the invitation email. Do you think that would help win me some points?

I didn't really ask any questions, mainly because mine kept getting taken away. But I made sure to smile and laugh and whatnot, and I participated in the group activity.

The main question is about the follow-up email. Would the person who sent me the invitation have some say in whether or not I get hired? Would sending a follow-up hurt my chances or make me come off as too desperate? I'm trying to do all I can to get this job.

I'm not staking all of my chances on Apple, but they seem to be the only one offering longer term jobs. All the others are only seasonal. Thanks in advance.
