That is because iwork.com is in Beta. Phil said that it will become a fee service once it is out of Beta.
Just like drugs - get 'em hooked on free samples, then once they're addicted jack up the price!

Man, I totally agree. I just hope it works well with Word's change tracking. Of course now I have to use Endnote. I spent hours trying to get Endnote to properly format a guy's last name that was three parts: ex. "C. von Der Beeck".
Does anyone know if iWork '09 is available at Apple Stores?
Is there really still no auto-save for Pages? REALLY??
I still can't believe that wasn't in iWork '08, I've lost loads of work due to there be no auto-save and its a standard feature in every other office app and has been for a long time.
Yes it is possible to unlock the program electronically. When you buy iWork, enter your serial number in to the application to unlock it.
I believe you can also buy a serial number online. There's a link in the application.
Has anyone had any issues with the 13" or 15" not working with a projector via the mini displayport to vga adaptor? The reason I post here is that there is not much sense for me to buy a new notebook if I cannot reliably output my Keynote app to a projector.
error bars in number, its about time!
$ cd document.pages
-bash: cd: document.pages: Not a directory
$ unzip document.pages
Archive: document.pages
extracting: thumbs/PageCapThumbV2-1.tiff
extracting: QuickLook/Thumbnail.jpg
extracting: QuickLook/Preview.pdf
extracting: buildVersionHistory.plist
inflating: index.xml
One thing I haven't seen mentioned is that iWork (Pages at least; I assume the other apps are the same) saves documents as actual files rather than bundles/packages. So you can attach them directly via email, rather than zipping them first.
Code:$ cd document.pages -bash: cd: document.pages: Not a directory
In fact, they appear to already be zipped, so they've taken a leaf out of Microsoft's book in that regard (the Office 2007/2008 format is the same).
Code:$ unzip document.pages Archive: document.pages extracting: thumbs/PageCapThumbV2-1.tiff extracting: QuickLook/Thumbnail.jpg extracting: QuickLook/Preview.pdf extracting: buildVersionHistory.plist inflating: index.xml
Unsure if you need to re-save old documents or whether they'll be converted as they're opened, since I don't have any existing .pages documents.
I've only gone out to TV and monitor via miniDP/VGA, and not a projector. But I've noticed with the TV that sometimes the reported resolutions aren't actually supported by the device; you might want to try turning the video settings down to a mirrored 640x480, then raise them up until you find the projector's max.Has anyone had any issues with the 13" or 15" not working with a projector via the mini displayport to vga adaptor?
