“Just packing my suitcase while wearing the Vision Pro & battery pack…ya know…just to enhance that whole experience.…and, in case someone calls I don’t want to just answer with my iPhone!”

Marketing team is really stretching it on that use-case scenario 😬 🤣

This in its current form is extremely niche… the first gen buyers are guinea pigs for sure on this… and they are paying apple for that privilege.
You’ve never purchased the first gen of anything at all because your thought process is first gen buyers are guinea pigs? That’s a real sad way to look at humanity. Hope you feel better.

And that’s ok. It’s not for everyone and you should do what you enjoy. You sound like you enjoy watching tv with the fam, nothing wrong with that, same as nothing wrong with other people wanting to watch content by themselves on the Vision Pro.
Its perfect for watching content by yourself, and on the go. Take on a flight etc combined with airpods something like this bit a cheaper version for content consumption only would be a huge seller for alot of consumers.

This device has been made for much more than consumption… and as a consequence the cost is extremely high.

I also refuse to buy the first iteration of any Apple hardware, going back to the original flavored iMacs. Experience has proven this the correct course of action, for many reasons. The one exception: the original iPod was my favorite Christmas gift from my Dad and Mom. But I didn’t buy that.

This is the weirdest thing I’ve ever seen from Apple. They honestly expect people to walk around in their daily routine with that heavy device strapped to their heads? We’re a decade away from a version of the Vision Pro that makes this commercial realistic.
Actually, the commercial shows the product as it is today. And people do Oculus. And they fall down and crack their heads open. For a 1st Gen, I would bet this will go down as one of the best 1st Gens in electronics history. We'll see.

Riding Moore's Law starts now...

Shouldn't apple be trying to get developers first instead of the general public?
They have, but they still have to inform the general public, that it exists in generate hype and interest.
Any “regular” consumer who sees this commercial is going to think “oh cool, I want one!” And then they see the price.
But five years from now when a lot of the rough edges have been sanded down, and the price has been shrunk to something a little more easy to stomach, they’ll have five years of knowing what the product is, and five years worth of apps developed for it.
Developers are going to be interested no matter what, it’s a new platform from Apple.

Thats a bit harsh… ive bought quite a few first gen Apple products that did exactly what i needed.

I dont understand your hostility. I was a Guinea pig for some of those devices too. Theres nothing wrong with being a guinea pig 😂

They're recycling the same footage from WWDC?! You seriously couldn't record some new stuff?

My god they really don't have any confidence in this thing
I‘d rather they spend the million+ dollars a commercial with all new footage would‘ve cost to „record“ for something more sensible.

Apple, can we get some new content? lol. It’s release week. No more hiding it now.

It’s a 60-second spot, likely for tv. I’m sure the majority of folks watching football didn’t watch the keynote.
