I still don’t see a situation where I’d prefer to have this heavy mask strapped to my face rather than just watching a TV or using my phone.

Perhaps on a flight, but otherwise I’d much rather save the neck ache and experience the world
How do you experience the world while working on your computer, watch a movie on your TV, etc. Specifics please.

Yep. I suspect many here are rooting for it to flop.

Just like the responses here when Apple introduced iPod, iPhone, iPad, Watch, AirPods, etc years ago.
Yes, indeed. I have some ideas where their hate comes from and they are from a dark place. It's become automatic for them. Mention Apple = "must come up with some ways to denigrate Apple, even if they have been broadcast numerous times before"

Yes... it does appear to be a reflexive/automatic response.

Perhaps there's no joy in their lives? Just a guess.

I would be worried if those voices were absent. It's part of the "apple is doomed" cycle. If the product launch includes a good amount of naysayers, it will likely succeed.

Shouldn't apple be trying to get developers first instead of the general public?
Why not both at the same time? There is no problem with the way Apple is marketing the release of Vision Pro.

To be honest I would be pretty content with the Vision Pro as it is. It has the core apps my iPhone, iPad and Mac has and those apps I use 99% of the time. Everything else is just a bonus to me.

The iPod launched within a month of the original Xbox.

iPod $399
Xbox $299

I remember Apple being doomed (fresh after being for real doomed).
iPod for sure doomed. Teens will never want it.

The retort here was "Who asked for a thousand songs in your pocket?" referring to Jobs' "iPod... a thousand songs in your pocket" when he introduced iPod.
