Reminds me of how utterly terrible iOS is at printing. I always get frustrated and finally end up switching to the Mac whenever I make a misguided attempt to print something on an iOS device.

Mac Pro, iMac, Mac mini, even the latest MacBook Pro is using a year old processor. Do you ever look and compare what's on the market today?

It's funny how the iPad Pro lacks enough advantage over their other products to warrant the Pro name and the biggest giveaway for Average Joe must be how the ads highlight things even my old iPhone 4 is perfectly capable of.

Digitally signing a document? Really? That's what you want to put front and center in an ad to show off the iPad Pro?

Which part of the hardware is ancient?
You only have to look at the buyers guide from Macrumors to see how attractive the state of the Mac is today.

And talking about the future (iPad). It's getting squeezed out by surface and chrome books. For a company focusing on mobile first it's hard to see they're putting lots of efforts into it.

Don't talk about software and services... it pales in comparison to what others have to offer. That's the sad state of Apple today.

That is the beauty of the Apple ecosystem. Yes, on paper, each of their offerings seems inferior to the competition, but put them together, and you get a degree of integration you simply can't get with a mish-mash of hardware and software.

Uh... didn't Apple just stopped making monitors, routers and servers? What ecosystem are you talking about?
You mean their cloudofferings the state of Siri versus google now, maps?

Issue is that most companies use services such as docusign to sign documents, not Apples solution.
Apple is targeting the novice computer users. Their sales and marketing department contain far more employees then they've engineers. It's all smoke and mirror these days.

I guess the irony of Apple settling their antipoaching lawsuit is lost on Tim Cook. This would never happen under Steve Jobs!

I mean using airpods with my iPhone, iPad, MacBook Air and iMac.

I mean using my iPad to teach in the classroom, mirrored to the projector via an Apple TV.

I mean using iCloud Photo Library to sync my photos.

The Apple Watch is the best smartwatch available, and it works marvelously as an extension to my iPhone.

I mean using airdrop to pass files around. Siri works fine for me (and is actually pretty cool when used from the watch). I use maps over google maps. I am subscribed to Apple Music. Continuity is handy for making / receiving calls and texts on my other Apple devices. Then there's Apple Pay as well.

I am sure one could replicate all this functionality somehow via a hodgepodge of products from a myriad of manufacturers, but the point is that Apple does it all, and makes it all work so seamlessly together.

That's the beauty of the Apple ecosystem.

I worked in the 90s when the term "paperless office" was tossed around a lot, but the combination of low-resolution screens that were no fun to read and the easy access to laser printers meant that paper use was actually skyrocketing. I printed emails that I wanted to save. I printed sections of technical manuals. I attended meetings where every participant had a printed agenda that went right into the trash or recycling at the end of the meeting.

I remember those days. "The Paperless Office" was wishful thinking. We were all drowning in paper.

One thing that's reduced the need for printing is the plentiful supply of cheap, flat, high-quality screens. I have four on my desk at work. Five if you count the 12" iPad. I can dedicate entire monitors to displaying reference documents all day long. In the past, I'd print those docs and have them lying open on my desk for quick reference. No more.

Most of the tasks and features you describe are related to consumption of digital content. People who create things, designers, artists, engineers, have different priorities and workflows. From what I can see in both hardware and software, Apple no longer values the business of creative professionals.

Duhh...
Puffy propaganda from the biggest company in the world to avoid to develop a decent printer driver.
I prefer my HP printer to the mysterious Amazon AWS cloud that was completely downy yesterday.

Why would you be doing personal things on company time? Must be lunch break.

There goes AirPrint. Apple will simple define it away, no matter what users want or think.

Air Print is so slow, i was hoping they will improve it.

They cannot go away from printing, its needed in the business world of any industry. Especially since they're trying to be the forefront of B2B apps

Apple, please add more emojis, and make a more expensive ipad that's thinner and has less memory.

dumb users printing things they shouldn't... why change things for the users who know how/when to print. We are not all idiots.

Twitter: My Laptop display does not adapt to the lighting in the room..

Apple... Well ****! There goes our upsell!

When is it coming to iPhone? Galaxy Note has been doing this since 2011.

I wonder how Tim would feel if an Apple employee was using company time, printer and paper to print a resume to apply at Google?

This ad is incredibly stupid. I use my iPad Pro every day. I run my business from it and have no complaints. I may be in the minority but I am completely satisfied with the capabilities of the iPad Pro. I actually do think it's "amazing". I would love to see how other people are using them in their businesses, daily lives, etc. Real Stories from Real People. If anything, this ad insults the team of engineers who made the iPad Pro.

Tim, remember when Jobs bashed Flash because it sucked? He cared more about how it affected the hardware and software that had Apple written on it than anything else. Get back to what Jobs left for you to run. A great company, not a political agenda.

That's totally inaccurate and you know it. The beauty is you spent a lot to get perceived superiority, what actually have is overpriced hardware with weak services and the other platforms integrate fine too. Congrats.

Look, all the examples I listed above, I am using them all. Every day. I speak from personal experience when I vouch for the Apple ecosystem working very well for me, so yes, I am amused when people try to blatantly tell me straight to my face that I am wrong.
