Look, all the examples I listed above, I am using them all. Every day. I speak from personal experience when I vouch for the Apple ecosystem working very well for me, so yes, I am amused when people try to blatantly tell me straight to my face that I am wrong.

I take exception to "you simply can't get with a mish-mash of hardware and software." That's way too general.

The stuff you listed I can do with BT, OneDrive, My Surface Pro4 plus their are a variety of great third party tools that probably sync better than anything apl has. I was listening to a podcast today where the apl pundit said flat out he could not trust Mac photo library it destroyed his data twice.

I get the feeling out there is apl is somehow superior by apl , that's fine but don't discount other solutions.

Let's say you could. But it still won't be integrated at the software level the same way Apple has done. So why spend more effort and risk so many points of failure just to get the same benefits as I am already getting in the Apple ecosystem for way less effort?

Apple services have worked fine for me thus far and haven't backfired on me yet. Maybe one day,
iCloud Photo Library will delete all my photos by mistake or something and you will find me here singing a completely different tune. But until that day comes, consider me a satisfied and happy Apple customer.

Sure you are

That's why I like apple products and we have a mixture in the house. It's one thing to already have that level of integration that makes your digital life easier, it's another thing to hope the competition comes up to speed quickly.

I'm pretty sure I may have signed a receipt at an Apple store on a iPhone or non pro iPad using my finger.

This has killed it. How are PC makers going to be able to come up with a device with a touch screen and a digital pen? I Just cant see it happening!

Why would you buy a PC anymore?? Why would you buy one?? (apart from if you need to restore an iPad which you cant do without a computer.)

I don't know what Tim "stubbornly believes", but in terms of unit sales, iPad sales are close to double Mac sales.

Apple sold 13.081 million iPads in Q1 2017
Apple sold 5.374 million Macs in Q1 2017

Is it any wonder that the Mac Pro is not a high priority? How likely is it that Mac unit sales will magically catch up to iPad sales?

Right but you can't compare iPads/tablets to just Macs you have to compare them to PC sales as a whole.

People claiming tablets are the future of computing are basing that on nothing other than wild speculation and presumably the copious amounts of Kool Aid they have consumed! There is nothing to back that up at all.

PC Unit sales 2016 - 269.7 million units

Tablet unit sales 2016 - 206.8 million units.

The PC market is still significantly larger albeit both markets are in serious decline. iPad sales are actually tanking at a faster rate than the tablet market in general, which suggests that Apples insistence on trying to push devices that hold very limited use to many people who own both a computer and a smartphone at the $600 - $1200 price range is quite ill judged.

People saying Apples focus should be on the iPad because they sell more of them is also misguided. Apples Q1 results show significantly higher revenue from Macs than iPads despite smaller unit sales.

The thing with this is that you're telling us how great Apple is and how other solutions don't work, but there are definitely folks who get by just fine using Google, Microsoft, and the solutions of other companies just fine. I think we're amused you're telling us to our face how wrong we can be.

When have I ever said you were wrong by going with other solutions?

My point is and always has been this - you are more than welcome to use your own solutions which work for you. Just as I do mine. There are tons of people getting meaningful work done out of their laptops, so think long and hard before criticising it to be a mere toy.

I suppose we'd need to define if calling out other solutions as inferior is "being wrong", and we could call it even given there those who've done so against Apple solutions [shrug]

I guess let's play tit for tat... when did I criticize a laptop as a toy? I use one myself when I go to my tech groups.
