Wtf. I ordered the same thing Jan 1 with a date of 19 Jan-29 Jan. As of now no card charged or anything.

Shipping to small town south east USA
Small town south east USA for me too. I did pay with like $1000 on an Apple Gift Card and the other $200 with a credit card. Maybe the mixed payment methods and the gift card is why it charged?

Did your order status changed when your card was charged? I ordered last Jan. 6 with same configuration and have also the same delivery date as yours but my card haven’t been charged yet.
nope, still on processing. The only thing I can think is the combo of apple gift card and credit card that I paid with led to them taking the money sooner.

I've got a 16GB/512GB MBA (8C Graphics) on order since 26 Dec - heading to the UK, estimated delivery date of 4th Feb. Had a bit of excitement yesterday when my credit card showed authorisation for the full amount, but no change in order status - still processing. Wondering out loud if due to it being a custom order, they check your card before it enters production - either way hopeful for some movement soon, fingers crossed.

Fingers crossed indeed!

For anyone who wants to see the path of travel if travelling into Europe or the UK from China
Hi Kevin, how long did after arriving at the facility at Chek Lap Kok did your package update to the later transit points? Mine arrived at the facility more than 20 hours ago, and no sign that it's proceeded beyond HK, despict it saying it's been released by the customs agency.

I ordered on Jan 1 and my card got charged last Friday. Still in processing so I guess they charge once they start working on the order. Hopefully it will show up before the estimated date of February 9th.

Ordered my MacBook Air last Friday, January 15th. Estimated date of arrival is February 9th to 16th. I paid using my debit card, and I noticed it hasn't been charged yet; obviously they are waiting until they start manufacturing my MacBook Air (I configured it with 16 GB of RAM) before the payment happens. It would be nice if this happens right after I get my next paycheck from my current job this Friday.

I got more information from using the Deliveries app as it also showed me it stopping at Dubai. also keep in mind that the picture below are trying to show two different time zones

Yeah, my charge disappeared almost as quickly as it appeared (it was present yesterday, gone today)...

However my order has just moved to preparing for shipment, so progress at last! It is still showing a delivery date of the 4th Feb, but maybe that will update when it ships as it seems quite far away... that is unless it comes via DHL in which case they seem to take forever to get from China to Europe (based on my AW S6) so could still be accurate!

Hey I’m sorry, did you get any authorization charges or something when you first made your order?

Apparently they can try to take £1 or something like that to validate the card before the order is confirmed.
Or so they told me.
I also believe that if there is a problem with the card or getting payment they'll contact you and give you a week to sort it out. That's what happened to someone on here who ordered in December and his card ran out at the end of December.

I actually had a problem with my payment. My bank flagged the transaction as suspicious and put a hold on my account. Apple sent me emails and the website updated indicating the problem. This happened on a U.S. holiday, when my bank was closed. No issues being able to resolve it the next day. According to the email they'll keep trying for 7 days.

This is what I suspect with my card. I'm waiting for this kind of email.
They have a habit of flagging this kind of thing as suspicious for me. It's like they don't think it's normal for a 60 year old to buy an Apple laptop!
They even refused payment for one on my debit card until I screamed about it.

Ordered a Mac-Mini 16GB/256GB December 22nd from Adorama. Card processed the 23rd and received a note that it was sent to Apple for fulfillment. Saw no movement on it till January 11th when I received a shipping notification and UPS tracking information that didn't actually show information until the 12th. Received the unit the 13th.

Alright, my card has just been charged but it still shows as a pending transaction. Hoping to see an update in a day or two!

Just a quick update - not had any confirmation from Apple, but using UPS MyChoice, my MBA has shipped and is currently on it's way from China and due for delivery to the UK on Tuesday.

If you're not a MyChoice member, you can always track by reference number on the UPS website, just put your Apple order number in. However, they've reduced the amount of visibility tracking by reference number shows, so all you get is the current status/delivery date, but better than nothing.

So final update - confirmation from Apple that the MBA has shipped.

Full timeline from ordering to shipment:
Ordered: 26/12/20
Authorisation on CC: 19/1/21
Preparing for Shipment: 20/1/21
Shipped: 21/1/21

Original delivery estimate: 4/2/21
UPS delivery estimate: 26/1/21
Apple delivery estimate: 1/2/21

Forgot to add: Model MBA 8C Graphics - 16GB/512GB

Just got charged on my CC for my MBA M1 order. Online order still shows as processing for Feb. 9th. Is that normal to charge so far ahead?
