Finally! "Preparing to ship" MBP 16GB/1TB Space Grey, Germany.
Hopefully that's a step in the right direction!
Same configuration as me, been waiting since the 13th.
Apple Store US is down right now, unable to check orders at the moment.

I don't know how my patience is holding up, but I somehow am. I've been obsessed with this order ever since I placed it and the status of the order always has a presence in my head, which probably has a negative effect on my productivity. I seem to refresh and check it throughout the day impulsively.
This is exactly how I’ve been feeling. My patience is hitting its limit. This thread and the UPS app are my lifeline until my laptop arrives. UPS needs to get their **** in gear soon.

Trust me, I am pissed off. It's so unlucky - the batch before ours made it out, the batch after ours was either shipped through FedEx or routed through SZX. And yeah, it was unfortunate event, the COVID breakout. That was not under UPS's control. I understand the airport needed to be locked down and everyone needed to be tested. But the response IS under UPS's control, as we have learned. You can either get your sh*t together, solve the problem, send people home to isolate, sanitize the facility, whatever and get flights scheduled and flying on time again, like FedEx, or you can have a failed response and basically have a frozen operation with no timeline for reopening like UPS. No alternative plan for the packages you currently have either - no chartering on another airline, no forwarding to Shenzhen, hell, I don't care forward them through FedEx if you need to. I would at least file a claim against UPS's delivery guarantee, which is available if it's been 24 hours since the scheduled delivery date, but UPS never gave us a scheduled delivery date.

The package can't be overdue if there's no due date.

Yeah I completely understand. UPS has had a piss poor response to this. If FedEx and everyone else can get through it and get moving, there's no reason that they can't also. If everything was just as **** down then I'd understand it a little more. It should not be hard to sanitize the cargo and route it through somewhere else.

As to being unable to file a claim because you haven't been given a date yet, that's just the salt in the wound. You're right where I am right now. No date, in Shanghai, but you've been there for a week almost. I dont maybe would still be worth it to file a general complaint against the company with a senior advisor or something. I know at other companies you can do that.

I completely feel you about the constant presence in your head, it's absolutely negatively affected my performance, but I've also found that when I didn't get an update when I expected it, it also put me in a sh**ty mood. Maybe this sounds completely ridiculous to other people but I get it completely.

I seriously hope you guys get an update as soon as possible.

Think this is for the updates to give people gift cards with their purchases. That starts today.

Why do you say that? Looks like your computer shipped yesterday via FedEx, I wouldn't worry about that, it probably just hasn't gotten it's flight yet. A lot of people have said that FedEx flights are still operational, though I'm going to look into the flight aware website myself here in a minute.

Shanghai gang seems to be exclusively UPS people that were already in Shanghai on the 20th/21st when all this happened.
My package was shipped on 11/25. As of 11/27, it is still stuck in Shanghai according to Fedex. I believe Fedex has daily flights so it should've been on one of those.

If you happen to already have an order status page open you can just refresh that. It's still working for me. My order status finally updated to shipped even though it shipped 4.5 hours ago. Says delivers Tuesday December 8, the earliest of my delivery window they initially gave. Playing it safe I think. I'll wait for fedexs estimate.

Believe me, I can't. I'm in the Eastern Time Zone. I've had an order status page up constantly. Refreshed it over an hour ago, and was getting the We'll Be Right Back Page.

Odd I'm eastern as well. That shipped status change was fresh from within the last 10 minutes.

What does your tracking show Shanghai wise? Can you share a picture? Also I've been looking at FedEx flights leaving and there are very few. There's one going to anchorage in the next like 2 days. Departs in 6 hours

I take that back. That one plane has been going back and forth between anchorage Shanghai, Dallas, and Memphis for the past few days but I can't find any other FedEx flights. They may just have a back log going on. FDX28 seems to be the only one.

I ordered another 8GB Base model Mac mini(because it's in stock), so that I can still test M1 while waiting, and transfer a working environment instantly once Pro arrives.

But seriously, if UPS cannot manage to deliver it by mid December, I will contact Apple to cancel this order.

At least they have one. UPS has 0

Very true. Looks like out of the next 80 departures from Shanghai airport, FedEx has 2 of them. One Friday. One Saturday. FDX28 and FDX9198. May be slow but I can't imagine it's the same as what OG Shanghai gang is going through @geek1

Some little hope for Shanghai Gang.

UPS currently has four 747-8F on ground in ANC, all of them landed more than an hour ago, and they have not been scheduled for further flight yet, even the one landed 16 hours ago.

UPS mostly uses 747-8F for PVG-ANC flights, so maybe one of them is waiting for PVG schedule now. But I'm not sure.

What are you using to track? Looks better than flight aware

Card has also been charged. Never been so happy to see 2400€ got charged :D

It's Flightradar24 from iPad App Store, and I paid for "gold" subscription to just track UPS(you have access to more information with subscription)
Yeah much better than flight aware. I did gold too for the extra info. It's only $4 for the month. Got alerts set up for ups and FedEx anything related to PVG lol.

I'm very curious if I'm the only person left who ordered on launch day (Nov.10--1 hour after the Apple Store came back online). MBP 16GB/1TB Space Grey Absolutely no movement for the past 2 1/2 weeks. So damn frustrating. 😤

Part of the Shanghai gang here for my CTO MBP 16.

While I love to be optimistic, the flight numbers seems to be regular scheduled flights:
62: HKG
71: SZX
2998: PDX

89 is the only that doesn't fit the pattern. it came from HKG and ICN, but no further info outbound from ANC.

I ordered the exact same model as you, but on the 13th November . I have an ETA of 30th-7 December still processing yet.

Dec 2 - 9 here and still processing but I ordered on the 22nd of November and the basic MBA model.

Well I just got the break of a lifetime. Ran through my exact configuration on the Apple Store and lo and behold it's available for pickup today at my local Apple Store. Immediately purchased it and cancelled my original order from November 10. I have a check-in at 9:15-9:30 AM. I'll finally have this bad boy in my hands later this morning. :)

You should track the number like N613UP.
This is the number of the aircraft, an aircraft can be assigned to different flights.

My MBP 16GB/2TB, ordered Nov 11, finally shipped Nov 25, and just departed Anchorage, AK at 3:20pm today. Says scheduled delivery on Tuesday by Noon, but I bet I get it Monday. Would be REALLY sweet to get it Saturday...
I know it says "SPECIAL HANDLING SECTION: Deliver Weekday", but it's super close! I've had FedEx packages delivered the same day as being listed at the Chicago Destination Sort Facility before. I'm not holding my breath, but maybe I'll be updating this post later on my new Laptop...

Congrats! When you first boot it up, can you log back in and reply here with where and when you saw it :)? I've been putting that exact configuration in for the past week every few hours and have only seen 1 in stock at an Apple store over 100 miles away.
