Mine was on 15.3...updated via software update (saw it had firmware update to 15.4)

Genuinely don't think photos can do justice to this monitor.

Not seeing the dim display here, either. Connected to a M1 Mac mini using all of the included cables.

Oh yeah, and the packaging is kind of crazy, but for a fully-cardboard based system, it's beautifully designed.

Yeah...I usually keep my Apple boxes which is insane to think about, their boxes are just great! They can be reused over and over again.

The box alone must be $50 - $100

But seriously, the box is very impressive 🤣

Can anyone who received Studio display sense that the monitor is 100 nit brighter than LG 5k or iMac 27 retina display?
That is an only clue that the new display is not exactly the same panel that is used for those previous 5k displays.

It's not even usable. When it first plugs in it shows the desktop as bright, and then flashes to black and then back to desktop at about half brightness. There's no way it's normal. Doing an OS update and hoping that fixes it.
It does require 12.3 so maybe that’s it.

A youtuber measured the lumens and got even higher measurements then what is advertised
at brightest 680 Lumens.

The brightness controls on the keyboard control the brightness of the primary display.
OK. If I have a magic keyboard connected to the Air, do you know if the brightness controls would still only control the Air if it's open??? Or does the Air have to be closed for the magic keyboard to control the brightness on the Studio display?

To adjust the brightness of a secondary display, try holding the Control key while pressing the brightness up or brightness down buttons. That's how it works with the LG UltraFines.
