They're definitely there. Put your ear about 1/4 to 1/3 of the way across the top from each corner - you can feel/hear the air blowing. But its so minimal, and they're completely silent. Apple has worked hard on their cooling, seems like every generation of laptop has better fans to minimize noise. No doubt they've applied that tech in the displays too. ProDisplay XDR has fans too.I didn't think there were fans.... so I guess, very very quiet.
Ordered! Thanks for the tip.Gaffers tape, you won’t notice is underneath and it’s strong enough to stop it from sliding but easy enough to remove with no residue. We photographers use it all the time for any and everything. I use it to stick cables to backs of desks so you don’t see any dangling.
I had to restart my MacBook before the update would show up.Thanks everyone for replying. Unfortunately, I'm on OS 12.3, never had a beta on my MacBook Pro, display is running 15.3, and no update comes through. Oh well I suppose I'll just wait. Maybe the servers in Canada haven't pushed the update yet? No clue why.
No idea what the actual box weighs, but i’d guess its the weight of the display. Its a really heavy piece of cardboard. Apple has some quality packaging.Hi guys!
Any Of you can confirm the Weight Of The box? I’ll try to estimate a internacional shippig price..

Well, whatever combination of things I just did must've kicked the displays into behaving. I started out with two ASDs connected to the Intel MBP. After a number of fruitless restarts with both of the displays plugged in, I took each one over to a newer M1 in my possession (MBA) and hooked them up individually just to check for proper output. All was well over on the M1. I updated the ASDs to 15.4 using the M1, then restarted the ole' Intel MBP with nothing connected, connected each display individually, and voila, they're now both 2560x1440 scaled to 5k by default on the Intel. Strange stuff!Do you have anything else plugged into your Mac's Thunderbolt ports? If so, disconnect everything and try connecting only the display and see if shows the correct default (About This Mac > Displays, should show 5120x2880)
Noticed the same thing! The bass especially seems stronger–not sure if it's just in my head though.Just did a firmware update on the Studio display and idk if I'm going crazy or if the speakers got WAY better after the firmware update. Like they sound really good for monitor speakers. I don't recall them sounding this way yesterday/earlier today.
Anybody else experience this?
The Studio Display is sold out everywhere and orders from Apple direct are out to May.
What's the best place to look to pick one up quicker? Shiuld I just keep checking the Apple website and hope for a restock? Costco says estimated delivery on Tuesday, but don't know if I can trust it.

If I recall correctly, one Thunderbolt controller is shared between two ports. With four ports, there's two controllers, but you can't have two 5K displays on the same controller. So, you have to pick the right two ports for two 5k monitors or it will only support 4k on each monitor. Whenever I've needed to find out which ports are on separate controllers I've just googled around until figuring it out...Well, whatever combination of things I just did must've kicked the displays into behaving. Went ahead and purchased my 2nd through Costco - picked 1 to 2 day express delivery. We shall see!In my experience you can trust the Costco estimate. Otherwise checking daily early in the morning for local resupply to Apple Stores is the next best option you mentioned.
I have a 14-inch and in my experience, it is just too small to be used as 2nd display. Clamshell mode for life.
I have to agree. I think the press/reviewers got this monitor wrong. It's actually pretty good. I don't notice the faults on the display, except for the atrocious webcam quality, but as Apple has mentioned, it may be remedied through upcoming firmware updates.I have to admit that my SD has grown on me over the past 24-odd hours. The software update seems to have given the speakers a little extra bass, and I've yet to have a hiccup with my M1 MBP in clamshell mode.
I remember when I sold my Thunderbolt Display years ago, thinking that I'd probably have to wait a long time for an Apple-branded replacement. Glad it's finally arrived.
