Even if its fake its a pretty good one :) Would be cool if the real tablet was like that. Does anyone remember that patent of an iMac-like shell that a tablet could slide in and out of?

Ever considered that the terrible angles etc are because his company has been trusted with dev kits, and his manager would fire him if he found out he was leaking images?

Im calling this real.

Well, only time will tell. The UI kinda makes sense.. and if I was designing a UI, it's how I would of done it.

I'm convinced. Working in Post Production myself, yes these could be faked, but during the timeframe they were posted it's rather unlikely.

Why WOULD someone risk losing their job posting ANY identifiable information? That's why there's no "well lit" images flooding this thread. What an inane thought.

OK, if this is real, then there's probably not a lot of the dev kits in the wild.

I would assume there's a pretty good chance that Apple knows who has which dev kit by tracking the serial number of the dev kit.

The serial number that's displayed clearly in the very first photo.

If it IS real, I'm not sure I'd want to be the organisation that has that particular dev kit right about now.

That last video promotes further more my benefit of doubt. OP, clearly the software is legit, but obviously not the hardware.

Would you mind doing another video with a MacRumors post and then switching to MacRumors main page. Now that would be a definite show.

Also, do apps from the App Store work with the software you have?

This is what I think it will look like:

My hopes:

10" screen
Double as Wacom tablet/macbook accessory
8+ hours battery life
integrates tweaked iphone OS in base config
Optional OS X install with second, more expensive config
Hidden USB, headphone jack, firewire

Created in Photoshop for the Gizmodo tablet contest
Render (left), Size comparison (right)

I don't think Apple would make the apps look so cut on the corners... if it's so close to production, it should be streamlined... but i like the concept.

People say not real because it is just touch tablet with fake os. does multi touch prove it? also, proof that app store apps work. This be my last upload, I cannot risc caught.

I already was convined, but seeing this video I am not convinced anymore. The movements of the map are not synchronous with the movements of the fingers. This looks like a playing video, with the fingers trying to catch the movement.

Just played the m4v he posted frame by frame and I can't really see any problems.. it certainly seems smoother than on iPhone OS though..

If all this is real. It's really convincing by the way. You sir have a set of nuts like no other by the way for posting this. Specially the picture with the serial number since this would be the easiest way to track where it's coming from. Which kind of leads me to believe this might be a fake. But I guess only the future will tell.

No. That does not prove it. How about explaining how you close apps? I'm interested to know how you did that. If there is really just a big button for that then it's pretty dumb. Can you open two windows of Safari next to each other?

If you close windows by clicking a "home button" then if you have two different safari windows over each other, how do you switch to the hidden one to close it?

Lots of questions... I feel like these are basic flaws with either the OS or your hoax. :p

Oh, also about being caught... If you were going to be caught, posting serial numbers and stuff like that are much more likely to result in being caught than showing us the outside of the device rather than the UI. PLENTY of people fake multi-touch UI online. All you do is play back a movie and move your hands as you practice it. Simple.

Um, you would first touch in the Safari you wanted to activate then hit home to close. Duh? If the windows were completely over each other, you move the first one out of the way first...Maybe a long-press (or double press) of the home button brings up expose? Maybe in expose mode you have "x"s on the Apps, ala Dashboard??

Come on, there's lots of possibilities here.

Whether this is real or not, we have no idea. All I know is, I would not spend hundreds of dollars for basically a BIG iPhone. I can essentially have all these features in my pocket at all times. This needs a full OS or it will crash and burn.
