I’m curious to see how the pencil would charge given the USB C connector. Another dongle perhaps?

I really like the colors on this new iPad though. Finally vibrant colors instead of the washed out pastel hints of colors on iPad Air/minis

Looking at this and a lot of other recent price increases on new models. I think when the M2 Macbook Pro 14"/16" comes out. There's going to be a price increase and the old model sold for the same price, with fewer upgrade options.

So, if you're holding out on buying a MBP. I think you'll be in for a rude awakening. There will be no saving money on the old model or getting more for the same amount of money on the new model.

So this gets the camera repositioned but not the Pro? WTF.

This iPad Pro is really not much of an update. Feels more like a quality of life upgrade.

I suspect next year we’ll see a bigger update arrive — there’s rumours of a 14-inch Pro for example.

I was thinking the same thing. Later, it occurred to me that maybe the iPad Pro solved this problem already with its "Center Stage technology", doesn't it? As I recall, the iPad Pros even before this latest generation came out with a feature where using the ultrawide front facing camera, it's able to reposition the person in front of the camera to look as if they are centered. Perhaps the latest iPads do not have this feature but the Pros continue to have it?

The fine print here is highly problematic. The iPad 9 stays around at the $329 price point and this comes in at $449.

Steve must be rolling in his grave. Seriously. Just call this the iPad Performa!

This muddles badly the iPad Air's reason for existing. Or does the iPad Air muddle the iPad 10's reason for existing? Regardless, something doesn't add up.
Leave Jobs out of it.Let him rest in peace. It’s been 11 years now.Apple has moved on.

Someone here mentioned Steve Jobs would be rolling in his grave.

In a sense, I think so too. Isn't the iPad line now really hard to distinguish? I get the iPad Pro, but what about iPad vs. iPad Air? Seems like it's time to sunset one of these and perhaps it should be the thick bezeled iPad?

$449 while the old model stays at $329.

Should have expected those shenanigans, it would’ve been too good to be true otherwise.

Edit: 1gen Apple Pencil support with USB-C dongle needed? What a joke.
For the europeans the price of the 9th gen even went up by 50€
