That's crazy talk. I'd love to watch a few movies on it, but yikes.
I have no idea what else I'd use it for. I like using computer monitors, plus it saves me about $2,000 using them. Why use it just for movies ?
I thought that was really really sad.The saddest part of the demo was when the Vision Pro user was wearing the goggles to video-record their children playing, and the narrator implied that Vision Pro would bring you even closer to your loved ones. How? By putting yet another layer of electronics between you and others?
We will know who has one by the tan lines on faces. It’s very innovative as expected from Apple, but no way would I wear one just walking around, opening the fridge, watching the kids play, Lolly-gagging around the house etc.. especially for that price. I guess we’ll see how comfy it is when it’s released..
I think it's being marketed as a Mac system replacement. Not just a Mac, but the whole system....I want to say this is not a product for the "average" consumer or user. But nearly everything they showed in the presentation targeted the "average" consumer.
So it's very confusing to me. To me, this just looks like a public access Concept product and the relatively few who buy this are doing it just for that reason. Not the reasons shown in the presentation.
Apple knows that it's not going to have a massive audience and it's priced like a high quality LOW volume product. Currently, there is no Economy of Scale with this product, simple as that.
10 years isn't as long as you thinkThis is a developer tech demo. Obviously in the future the battery will be inside the device. If you are going to buy this one day one, you will be developing for this or have a lot of money to spend on tech betas.
Make no mistake this is the future of personal computing. In 10 years nobody will own an iPhone or a Mac with a screen.
It seems like the main draw is that it's basically an external display you can use anywhere, not just at your desk.I have no idea what else I'd use it for. I like using computer monitors, plus it saves me about $2,000 using them.
IF there is a Vision SE, in 2027, it will be quite a bit less than $1999 me thinks. So when can we expect the Apple Vision SE to come out? 2027? At $1,999?
Have sex… Eat all the ice cream in the freezer before it melts… The usual stuffWhat happens when there is no electricity in the house?
Most airplane seats have usb power outlets to plug in to, so I don't think flights would be a problemNot very good if you want to use this thing on a flight, or want to walk around your house for a full work day as they showcased in the presentation. but I'm sure Apple will sell you additional batteries for $500 each probably lol.
Maybe in 5 years…in an alternative universe where Steve’s still alive. This needs to be sub $900 to be popular.
Anyone else find it ironic that they advertise an iPad health feature which measures the device-to-eye distance, yet their groundbreaking new product has 4K displays an inch away from your eyeballs?![]()
You take it off, and nurse the grooves around your eyes to make sure they haven't gotten infected? What happens when there is no electricity in the house? I wonder if there's going to be a Low Power mode.
You must not have kids. The benefit of that type of video recording is to be able to share it with others or be able to look back at it in a few years and see your kids at a younger age.The saddest part of the demo was when the Vision Pro user was wearing the goggles to video-record their children playing, and the narrator implied that Vision Pro would bring you even closer to your loved ones. How? By putting yet another layer of electronics between you and others?
Some of us probably won’t think about it until Gen 5 when maybe the price is similar to a higher priced iPhone.Ok, I'll admit this looks cooler and has more functionality than I expected. That said, based on Apple's history I would still never buy a 1st generation Apple product, especially one that costs that much. I'll think about it when gen 2 or 3 comes out.
One message was for the benefit of reducing myopia in children while their eyes are still growing. The Vision Pro was aimed at adult usage. I don't think they are marketing the Vision Pro for little kids.Your child’s eyes are being damaged by too much time indoors!
Here’s a new device that will make them never want to go outside again!!!
