Apples accessibility cred dropped a notch with the need for proprietary prescription lenses instead of supporting glasses.

Windows Hello iris recognition works through glasses and PSVR2 features eye tracking that also works through them.

What's Apple's excuse?
their eye tracking is superior?

My biggest question is whether the device supports more than one user. Is it like a Mac, or like an iPhone?

It is basically a fork of iPadOS. So it will likely support multiple users, but rely on external user management (e.g. more for work/school labs and not for home).

One message was for the benefit of reducing myopia in children while their eyes are still growing. The Vision Pro was aimed at adult usage. I don't think they are marketing the Vision Pro for little kids.
It was still odd to have both things so close together…

And when the iPhone was announced, how many kids did you imagine using one?

It seems useless to jetsetters flying longer that 2 hours. The perfect marketing is to those flying long distances a lot. They can watch a movie or a tv show, and then do some work or browse social media - but at a battery pack of only 2 hours? Not gonna happen.
Depending on how much power draw the headsets have, the usb power outlets on the airplanes may be enough to extend the operating time significantly. Or you can pack a second battery.

Most airplane seats have usb power outlets to plug in to, so I don't think flights would be a problem
I don't know what you mean by MOST, but United (I think now the worlds largest carrier) for example does not have USB power at their seats on "most" flights, other than in Business... there is usually 1 or maybe at best 2 AC outlets to use between 2-3 in coach.. I guess if one is buying a $3500 headset, they are probably not in Y, but rather in C or F, so yeah MAYBE USB is going to be available.

Apple Users: Please make a 27" stand-alone monitor with MiniLED's like the MacBook Pro's and a 4K NORMAL (not wide angle) camera and ProMotion 120Hz

Apple: Here's a $3,500 VR headset with a two hour battery life

🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

You mean for domestic flights, yes? Every International flight I've been on for the past 10 years, from steerage to business class on a bunch of different carriers all had USB and / or power outlets for the seats.

At the same time, if you can spend this kind of insane money on a toy (whose ONLY advantage would be as an immersive screen while flying on a long flight), you can afford first or business class.

Im betting it wont be 3 days after release before some moron is caught wearing this as they drive down the street.

I love it but it's too expensive! Outrageous. $3,500 without tax is alot of money.

full
I totally agree that it’s pretty cool. The price is way out there. I can find a lot of things to buy for $3,500. It’s another $295 tax in NY.

It is beautiful, and I LOVE the style and concept. But, $3,500 and a 2-hour battery pack?

That's a non-starter, and crazy fundamental misunderstanding on how a lot of folks will use this - or want to use this.

You can't finish a lot of movies. It would be worthless for a lot of long plane rides. Even around the house in a remote work option, 2 hours sucks!

It needs an 8 hour battery pack and some price trimming to make it an in demand item, IMHO.
It's primarily designed to be plugged in to power.

You must not have kids. The benefit of that type of video recording is to be able to share it with others or be able to look back at it in a few years and see your kids at a younger age.
I have children, which is exactly why I made that comment. Phones and cameras have already intruded on every personal moment of my life. For me, this would further destroy the intimacy of those moments. Do I appreciate pictures and videos? Absolutely. But we've reached the point where people are more concerned about remembering the moment (photos, videos) instead of living the moment. I'm blown away by the tech in Vision Pro, but at this point in my life, I need tech to get out of the way instead of inserting itself between me and the world.

Thoughtfully done, in usual Apple fashion. Overall it is what I was expecting, but some very cool smaller surprises. Very glad to hear eye-tracking and camera data is withheld from apps.
Side note- I hope it let’s you use QuickPath on the virtual keyboard.

Trying for the Hololense 2 market, not the general public.
Maybe the Mac only businesses have been holding out?
