Yeah, I had initially ruled out the AW2 because of perceived size/weight, but for years I wore an automatic watch day to day - I should probably give the poor thing some wrist time...

I've decided to stick with what I have ordered as £270 is a big jump in price, and I'm likely to be tempted by something new and shiny in a few years anyway.

I've also ordered an AW10 from Curry's to get the extra £50 trade in (offered £60 + £50 for my series 6 alu 40mm).

Should I have received anything from them about the trade in once the order was confirmed? I was expecting an email or something on next steps but received nothing.

I've also ordered an iPhone 16 Pro from them (also offering an extra £50 trade in - on top of the £1 offered for a very old 6S in a drawer!). Again, I haven't received anything further about the trade in... and I hope they won't be fussy over a £1 trade in - there are a few minor scuffs on the phone but it's a working phone as per the definition on the Currys trade in site...).

I'm also interested in trading in my Apple Watch Series 7 due to the extra £50 on top + Monzo is doing 4% cashback at Currys so I'll get like £16 extra. Do you need to include the watch band and charging cable? Looking at the Apple trade-in, you only include the watch and no accessories, but Currys is vague and their trade-in team hasn't got live chat.
Yes you need to include a charger and strap.

I’ve completed the trade in in-store today! Their computer system was painful but we got there in the end.

£85 + £50 extra against an AW10. At the same time they processed the pre-order in-store, delivered to store hopefully on Friday.

So, does that mean that you're now without an AW until the new AW10 is available for collection from store?

Interesting. If I recall correctly my six came without a charger. Was it different in the Uk?

(pretty awesome moment right here where the new MacOS basically finished half my sentence, so much for no Apple intelligence on Intel)

Well, Apple have taken the money for the AWU2 again after it was returned for reasons unknown to everybody, including Apple. No movement on the status bar, though. Still scheduled for Friday.

I don’t how many payments Apple process when new devices go on “pre-order”, but it surely is in the millions.

Meaning that there doesn’t seem to be a pattern. We all track the status in our store account, along with our credit card account. Earlier in the year I bought an iPad Pro M4. It was delivered on the designated day even though nothing had come out of my credit card account - not even showing as pending. My AW10 is due on Friday, like many others, and the payment has been taken from my account. But the still says it’s being prepared.

I ordered a series 10 through Apple then cancelled the order 2 hours later. Several days later and I just ordered a series 10 again with John lewis. Talk about indecisive!

Coming from a series 7 I felt there weren’t enough changes to warrant the upgrade but the more I think about it and having watched the reviews, I’ve changed my mind and I’m looking forward to getting the new watch now. John Lewis claims it’ll be delivered Friday, so let’s see.

I’ve gone for the 46mm jet black with the sport loop (for the first time having always used the bands in the past).

Has anyone else in the UK received a text from UPS saying they will be making an Apple delivery tomorrow? I’m reluctant follow the link in case it’s a scam. It appears to be a valid UPS address, but …

Has anyone here sold a watch to Music Magpie? I've got a price I'm OK with from them but the selling instructions are unclear. There's an FAQ that answers what to do if you've lost the charger (answer: declare the condition as poor) but it doesn't say anything about whether the strap/band needs to be included to get the quoted price, or at least nowhere that I could find on the site. To make matters more confusing I submitted a support request and then minutes later found a chat facility so I asked on chat and what I assume was a bot seemed to understand my question perfectly well and replied explicitly that I didn't need to send in the strap. But then someone answered my email request about an hour later and said that I did need to send in the strap.

So now I'm totally confused and any real life experiences would be much appreciated. If not then I guess I need to email back support and tell them that their chatbot told me the exact opposite and are they sure that I need to include the strap.

Sorry don’t know the answer but interested to find out what it is. I assumed would have to send the strap but not the charger useful to know the charger is required

I've become a pickup-from-store guy now but from experience with various other online retailers, if you log onto your Apple Store account does it show a tracking number if it is about to go out to a courier? I'd check that out if I was you. I think you're wise not to click the unsolicited UPS link you got. Also, from my UK courier experiences there's little point in checking any of the main (UPS, FedEx, DHL) tracking links even when they are official because they pretty much only say "out for delivery" on the day you're expecting it with no indication of when it might arrive compared to something like DPD that actually gives you a fairly accurate 2 hour timeslot and tracking of your actual delivery van.

I'm always amazed that, in what I assume is a competitive markets, that the big older courier companies have got away with not matching the way superior tracking capabilities of some of the newer entrants into the market such as DPD.

Has anyone ordered a watch now which states delivery 25th Sep….and think there may be movement to deliver sooner?

Suppose if people have second thoughts and cancel, more will become available

My order for AW U2 in Black is still displaying 20th and 'preparing to ship'. I suppose we might see movement tomorrow.

Thanks. I agree with your comments re the lack of modern tracking from the established courier companies - they are lamentable.

Yes, I keep an eye on the Apple Store tracking system too, which shows no movement. This is why I was concerned about a text apparently from UPS.

My shipment to germany is still being prepared. I guess there is no hope for a surprise early delivery tomorrow. Will probably be overnighted via DHL express from the Netherlands as per usual.

I’ve just sold my AW ultra last week (as ordered AW10 jet black) , £297 with the code. I just sent the watch no charger and no strap. Took a couple of days though I sent them an email to chase but then next day sorted and paid out no issues.
Was nervous sending them as like you put, it said about the charger and I didn’t see that till afterwards

Does anyone know when they open up pre-orders for in-store pickup? It still says "Apple Store Pickup is currently unavailable" on the product page. Is there a specific time on Friday (I guess during morning) when this option becomes available?
