Do you plan on ordering the new Apple Watch Series 7 (2021) this September?

Anyone in the UK seeing any movement with their store pickup for Friday?

My card still hasn’t been charged and still on processing.
Ditto on both counts. I’m collecting from the Belfast store on Friday morning. I reckon we’ll wake up on Friday morning to find credit card charge and “in store” status. They are almost certainly in stock rooms just waiting for Friday.

And from when could this be available again today or rather tomorrow or not until Friday?

Wow, up against that black band, you can really see how blue that watch case is.
Apple has lost the plot, 2 of their most popular watch colors aren’t available this year, they’ll be losing money on watch bands sales, since most of the bands go well with the silver & black aluminum watches. 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

It’s coming home

I'm starting to think those in the USA are ok.. plenty of stock (apart from Ti models) for launch. Those in the UK (like myself) are ok if they ordered with standard sports bands. If however you went for something a little different such as a solo loop (braided or sports) then your shipping date was pushed beyond launch day, regardless of how quickly you ordered. So for me my backup plan of going into store the morning of the release is probably a better bet than waiting two additional weeks for my online order.

Have you tried each strap in turn to see if collect in store comes up? Then you know you’ll get it and can buy your preferred strap at your leisure.

I did also but when we get the 7 how will the backup work when not on the same os
From past experience, your latest backup will only appear if watchOS version is the same or lower than the watch. Otherwise you will need to set it up as new, update the Watch and then reset.

Thats the thing - the strap I wanted originally (charcoal braided loop) and pre ordered caused significant delay and notably its disappeared from the store - discontinued. My second choice strap (dark cherry braided loop) IS in stock separately for same day collection! But make this a watch combo and there's no stock until December. Thats why I'm convinced actually going into store will be the best solution to this SKU mess.

I have a pickup ordered for Friday (UK) but also separately ordered the strap I really wanted (leather link) which was delivered yesterday (strap was not available for combo or to pickup in store). When I go on Friday I will take with me and hopefully they will sort so can take as part of watch combo instead.

Actually last evening I unpaired my 4 and set it up as new as I had a problem with an email address and haven't sold it yet .
It's fast an easy , much more than on a iPhone . So I guess I'll set up the new watch as new also .

I'm keeping my S5 anyway, but I will set up my S7 as new as it feels cleaner that way. And as you say, not really a PIA like the iPhone.

I’ve ordered mine with a strap I don’t want because I’m guaranteed pick up on launch day. I’ll put that strap on the S6 I’ll be selling.

As much as I am happy that my AW is probably already in the UK in a nice secure facility ready to be shipped to me on Friday, I am kind of missing out on this tracking stuff lol.

I remember when my daughter got me an AW2 and ordered it just before Xmas, I tracked it all the way from China to my door and it arrived on Xmas eve. Yes, I did open it lol.
