Do you plan on ordering the new Apple Watch Series 7 (2021) this September?

I just chatted an apple specialist online and they are not going to post the configurations prior to the preorder. The person I chatted with said they have elected not to do so this year. So they won’t be there until the preorder goes live.
See my post #821. Apple is not putting the configurations on the website prior to presale.
Thank you for making the call and getting a confirmation. I would also call Apple corporate and ask someone from the corporate office just to get a final confirmation. But it looks like this one confirms it. Well, that’s Apple Watch for you. You either take it or leave it 😂

Lol so either cobble together random combos and order as fast as you can or take your time and pick what you want with a delivery date of like March 2022. Good times.
That pretty much sums it up with Apple Watch S7. Same thing happened with last year Apple Watch S6 when Apple decided to open up the pre-order’s right away. A lot of people were at work or were not watching the event. Thus, they were not able to place the orders in and it was back ordered right away. Atleast this time… Apple gave us a date and a set time.

Man, I just hope for everyone who is ordering their AW S7. We all get secured launch date. It’s going to be ugly, sadly.

What about order for pickup instead of delivery? Did that get pushed back as well? There’s usually a lot of time slots available for launch day pickups.

I believe it did due to the band cases not being available on launch date. The band cases played a major role because when you paired your AW with a specific band and if that one was delayed it would delay everything on it.

My suggestion: Order whatever you can and worry about customization later.

Not sure if you misread but I wasn't asking about customised band configurations.

I was wondering if last year there were any issues with launch day pick up from stores, rather than delivery.

I’m sorry if I misread it. Not sure about launch day pick up from store. Since I don’t do store pick up. Anyone here is welcome to chime in, please?

That was so chaotic! I was mostly just listening in to the event while working and had to drop everything and figure out what band size to order. I ended up having to do 3 returns before I got the right size 🤣

When Friday morning gets here, order the size and case you want and order the band you want later on (if needed). That is the most logical thing to do for those who are working their way into an ulcer over a watch. If you don't want to do that, then order your watch at a later date when you have a greater ability to customize without a self-imposed time constraint.

I think I’ll just wait a bit longer and eventually pick mine up in store (do they still even do that).

Got my eye on a stainless steel (not sure if I’ll go for the graphite) with the cherry braided solo loop.

I saw the cherry braided loop in the store this past Sunday. It is a very nice color indeed. Just be mindful that it stretches over time.

At this point, I don’t care about the bands. Apple just sell us the actual watch we want….is that so hard??
I'm all for Apple just selling us the watch case itself without a band, and reducing the price accordingly.
Those who need a band can add whichever one they want during checkout, and the band availability shouldn't affect the availability of the watch case itself.

The band itself will affect the availability of the the watch itself because Apple has to customize the order and if the band is delayed your watch isn’t… rest assured the whole order will be delayed.

I personally went through this hassle myself last year. It was not fun. :(
