Do you plan on ordering the new Apple Watch Series 7 (2021) this September?

Yeah you can have as many watches tied to an iPhone as you’d like. I’ve had up to 3 attached to my phone.

the limitation is when you have cellular enabled watches. Carrier limitations apply. Like I can only have one cellular watch connection per iPhone so having two cellular watches, I can only activate cellular connectivity on one of them.
Might be your plan, i have ATT, two of the watches are on cell, seems to work fine on mine.

Have you mainly been using the stock workout app? If so, I highly suggest you give “WorkoutDoors” ago. It is the best running app there is for the AW. It can do what you are looking for. WoD is my go to for running. I can easily go 8hrs - 10 hrs on my long runs (depending on GPS signal). I do make sure to turn off notifications, AoD , and don’t stream music during the long runs.
You running ultras? When I was running trail 50K's, (and I'm really slow), I used an older Garmin 910XT for my 20+ mile distances. I kept the Apple Watch on the other wrist (not tracking anything) just for that mad activity ring burn, but my S0 at the time wasn't able to hang with longer than a 3hr run w/heart rate and GPS going.

These days I'm out of the ultra game and mostly just hike/trot shorter trail distances so the S4 (and soon to be S7) is fine for me. :)

Also - is that 8-10 with heart rate tracking?

Yea, I am an ultra nut. :D At the moment, I am doing a lot of low heart rate training so, my pace is slower. My long runs are typically 30 - 45 miles. If the weather is good and there are no real object impediments, I can get around 8 - 10 GPS with everything else on the watch off. Some days, it can be as little as 6 depending on where I am running.

I am training my body to use as much fat for fuel as possible with the low heart rate training.

I've just completed an order for starlight with dark cherry leather loop - long wait (11th nov) but I'm happy and hopefully it'll be worth it!

I've added my current watch as a trade in, and it says I'll receive packaging in the post to return within 14 days. I've never done this before - will I receive the trade in stuff at the same time as the AW7 or will I get it sooner? Worried that I'm going to be watch-less until mid November!

edit - scrap that I've just seen that I'll be sent only once the new watch ships.

Thanks for that! I may check it out.

I have found the battery life on my S5 is terrible.

I sometimes have to charge it a few times a day. When I went out today it was at 100% but when I got home 8 hours later it was less than 50%

Hope the S7 is better
There's an S5 in our family and that doesn't happen at all. Maybe take the earlier advice and see if it's being caused by a particular app.

If I ordered a midnight watch online and I order a SS graphite for pickup could I swap the band from the midnight watch over to the SS graphite and then return the midnight watch? I want to keep the dark cherry braided solo loop from the midnight watch and swap it out with the abyss blue sport band from the SS graphite watch. Obviously there would still be a $50 difference in cost that I would have to pay for.
