The good news is the Premium One stands have started shipping. Woot! The bad thing is that the w3 version (which I ordered) will be last to ship out. But that's ok. More to be excited about!

I just got this one for my wife. My other one is a dual watch and phone stand. She really likes the look and style of this one. Good quality, came fast with prime shipping.

Spigen is coming out with a new stand that I think will fit the bill perfectly for what I want it to be. Will be coming out the end of July. Here is a pic as found on Amazon.

Here is the link:http://www.amazon.com/Apple-Spigen®-Charging-Premium-cradle/dp/B0109I9W24/ref=sr_1_94?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1435788496&sr=1-94&keywords=apple+watch+stand

Looks like it will be a lot like Elevation Labs design, but better because it will have that bottom lip so that you will be able to use it in alarm clock mode.

It's certainly cheap and plain looking but functional. Personally I can't stand products that feel the need to plaster their name very noticeably on their products.

This approach to a "stand" isn't much different really than just setting your watch on the table with the charger or using your nice looking white acrylic box if you got the SS version.

Yup! That looks like what I WANTED the ElevationLab unit to look like. All they're missing is the "safety lip". How in the world could they design something without thath obvious functional need?

So what happens when you put a 38mm watch on this and it dangles above the lip?

The original link with the references doesn't work for me - brings up a search page. This shorter link should work for everyone: http://www.amazon.com/Apple-Spigen®-Charging-Premium-cradle/dp/B0109I9W24

I sent Spigen an e-mail asking them why this product isn't on their web page yet. Also wanting to see pics with no watch mounted as well as just an apple watch, without the Spigen armour on it. I also asked about the 38mm watches - if there would be a gap between the watch and the support "lip".

Edit: They don't have any other pics of the stand yet. (seems a little odd, but ok). No answer on the 38mm watches.

I ordered this off Amazon because it was only $12. But I was bummed to find out the Element 13 dual solution Night Stand did not fund as that also had a lip of sorts and was the best dual charging solution I have seen. There is a similar one from Unify that is not nearly as attractive as the Element 13.

For now the Spigen will have to do. I agree I don't care for the name STAMP, but I prefer the lip to the Elevation Lab version, and the $12 v $29 price.

I don't really understand why all these dock makers insist on perching the watch a foot in the air at an awkward angle. And I don't get the wedding cake tiered phone/watch combos either.

What is so darned difficult about making a simple horizontal dock that can support the watch on a bracelet and isn't made from razor sharp cornered metal? It should be the easiest design of all.

Oh and every single wood dock looks like it was made by my uncle Ernie in his garage in Vermont. Pass.

My condolences to you and your family on the woefully inadequate woodworking skills of your uncle Ernie. :) (I agree with that assessment...but I would have said grade school shop class) :)

The Spigen is only a few inches off of the surface and the angle makes sense so you easily see it's in charging mode. As for the sharp metal - the top is rubber - really no chance of your watch getting anywhere near the edges. (and, if you paint it like I did, you add a few more microns of dullness) ;)

I still think it's the best looking of the bunch....in black that is.

I think this is the best dock out there that addresses most of your concerns. They are in the middle of producing one with a protective layer that would prevent any scratches whatsoever. All in all, I agree with your complaints, but once they add the coating to this piece, the $120 is worth the end of constant searching and hoping for something great to come along!

The problem I have with the spigen night stand is that the back end doesn't look long enough or tall enough to support a link bracelet.

I have an idea for a stand that I've created a digital prototype for. I wonder if I should try to make a physical model of it to test it out? Its very different from any of the stand types I've seen on here or elsewhere and it works just as well in landscape or portrait mode.

I'm really reluctant to post an image of it as I don't have it patented and realize how quickly ideas that aren't protected get stolen.

Anyone have any recommendations?

Maybe upload it to one of those 3D printing companies and see if you can sell a few on Etsy or whatever the 3D printed goods version of Etsy is?
