I thought that was true, but looking at the images of the displays about halfway down this page it looks like the Ultra doesn't display any more information on the display, it is only displaying the same information in a larger (magnified) size.

The "thickness" or height goes from 10.7 to 14.4 mm high. My 45mm S7 is a tight fit under some shirts. I'm wondering whether the Ultra will be enough bigger that it will become problematic with some shirts (and not just shirts with button cuffs). Even jackets might be an issue. I have a few jackets that won't go back over my AW if I reach for something and the AW "pops out" of the jacket sleeve. This is one of the things that a return period is good for.

I'm hoping it works. The Ultra has a lot of really great features and functions. Even the price is attractive, at least compared to the S7 Edition AWs in titanium. IIRC, they were $50 more than the Ultra, which makes the Ultra seem like a bargain or at least a good value when you compare it to the S7 AWs.
I should be more clear, I meant the screen is 23 square millimeters larger (display area) larger than the S8. I don’t think it’s so much bigger that it will make a noticeable difference unless there are side by side, especially concerning the much deeper contrast on the AWU. As far as size, 4 mm will be more noticeable with the more rugged bezel. I would assume that if the 45 mm seems ok the 49 mm one would be ok too. Small but noticeable differences in several areas. I think the AWU is a phenomenal deal when compared to the titanium and stainless S8. I would assume if someone got uncomfortable with the size of the smaller AW that the ultra would probably seem to big. If I was on the fence I would perhaps consider looking at them in the store before I purchased one, but I like bigger watches so for me it was a nit picking no brainer. I know it won’t be for everyone and the S8 will probably work a little better, especially with certain shirt cuffs and everything. The smooth roundedness of the s8, allot of people prefer and have no interest in a larger watch that has more industrial sides. hope it works for you, I think with the display, battery life, GPS, and the call qualities (nobody is talking much about this yet so I am very curious if all these speakers and microphones really take that up a notch) would be worth a little struggle at the cuff once in awhile?

Well this is an unexpected surprise. My order from the evening of 9/11 with an original delivery date of 10/13-10/20, which was then pushed back to 10/21-10/28, earlier this week, now shows preparing to ship and no cancellation option anymore. Starlight Alpine loop in medium. Still shows delivery of 10/21-10/28 but I hope that is incorrect based on my prior experience with the Apple Store.

Wow it look like FedEx dropped the ball on holding the watches until Friday. Congrats to those who received theirs early.
So funny! they got it before the people in Australia/New Zealand. I'm surprised this forum has not made the headline news in MacRumors yet.
