I am torn between the S/M or getting M/L I have a 177MM wrist and felt that the S/M was difficult to get on/off then you mentioned it wrapping around which has me thinking

I took s/m with 180 bc of that reason. Yes a little bit difficult to put on but it’s not wrapping all around my wrist

I have tiny 155mm wrists that’s why I was worried about the band wrapping all the way around.

177mm wrist should be fine with the M/L no issues

I have the trail loop on order but my cheap ass has to ask if you believe the trail loop is worth the extra $50 over the sport loop

I seem to be in the minority, but I’m just not finding the trail loop to be all that great for running for me.

My wrist is 167mm, and the small loop fits fine. But I‘m finding the light weight and nature of the material makes the watch feel unbalanced on my wrist, even when tightly secured. I seem to get more dropouts and spikes in heart rate readings while running with the trail loop than I do wearing the ocean band.

Given that I’d only wear the trail loop while working out, I think the standard sport loop may be the better option for me.

For comparison, here is a S/M Trail Loop next to a S/M Sport Loop.

I thought the sport loops only comes in one size. On their site it shows one size for the 41mm and one size for the 45mm. Which was similar when the 44mm was available.

Almost all Sport Loops do come in one size only (one size fits all). There are just a few select ones that come in a bigger size for folks with very big wrists. Right now, only the Midnight Sport Loop is available in this "XL" size.

Short answer is no.

The material used for the trail loop is smoother and softer and velcro strips are bigger/wider, plus the titanium lugs, but that’s about it.

I do agree with you but Apple knows they can charge double for it and getaway with it. If you look at the amount of discussion the Trail Loops are creating on this forum alone and the number of people wanting them especially the black/grey one it’s not surprising.

I must admit I’m one of those people. I swapped out the watch with the Alpine Loop for one with the blue/grey trail loop and I have the black/grey one on preorder. I do have both a regular and Nike Sport Loop for my Series 5. When I wore them with the Ultra not only did they not feel as good but the black plastic lugs looked odd on it. I definitely prefer the Trail Loops over the Sport Loops.

Yea, the Alpine Loop is my first experience with woven nylon and I want more Of it. In the past I have always used the apple sport bands. So I was just questioning whether the trail loop was really worth the literal 100% premium over the Nike Sport Loops.

My wrist is 170mm, and the m/l trail loop band comes to a little past the center of the bottom of my wrist.

If center is 6 o’clock, it comes to 7:30. There is a lot of misinformation on this thread about the m/l wrapping all the way around your wrist, or “being like a tour loop”, etc.

You should 100% get the m/l. I’ve had both and returned the small. Wasn’t even a question.

All depends on how snug you wear the watch and how hard it is for you to slide it over your hand. I have a 175mm wrist and use the S/M trail loop. In my perfect setting the orange loop sits at 6 o’clock. And that works for me. YMMV

I had the medium alpine loop and I’ve got 19cm wrists. I returned it for a large because even though I could get it on, I was pulling it to its maximum which meant the metal hook was touching the top of the watch, plus the hook was on the centre underside of my wrist so I found I was tapping it on the table all the time. The large is much better for me and I have it fitted on the 6th loop from the end.

I take it you mean the Alpine Loop and not the Trail Loop as the former uses a metal clasp or hook and the latter doesn’t.
