Did the exact same thing for the exact same combo :D. Love that blue, really pops.

Same here. I swapped my Ultra with the orange Alpine Loop for blue/grey trail loop. While I liked the orange colour I wasn’t that keen on the material or the clasp mechanism. Plus I prefer to have more subtle colours and ideally those that match well with the colour of the watch itself. I am looking forward to the black/grey trail loop as well when mine gets delivered sometime next month.

Should have done it a few days ago, but I went with the Best Buy order for the Blue Trail Loop AWU and will be returning my AWU with Alpine. Luckily, Apple gives me two more weeks to ship it back so I won't have any gap.

Just a heads up Best Buy has Watches with black trail loops. I just ordered with delivery by next Tuesday. If you have the Best Buy credit card you can get $80 off too if you use it and promo code SEP23CCSAVE10. Also get $35 back in reward certificates.
Why..why..why did I see this. I am weak. I will have an Ultra with a Trail Loop next week.

Today is my 14 days. The only way I would return is to get the trail loop. Probably through Apple. i
If I begin the return online how many days do I have to mail back?

Returned my launch day ultra and ordered this yesterday (next day delivery) from BestBuy. This is the band/color I wanted from the get go.
This tells me Apple is holding them back on purpose now. Hopefully next week we will see them at Apple.

I hope so. I tried a trail loop and it’s amazing compared to the regular loops

Just stumbled on this thread. So the trial loop seems to be the one to get? I have the Midnight Ocean Band and do like it but not as comfortable as expected?...

I just went through the process earlier today and they gave me till the 21st to bring the package to FedEx.

US customer:
I ordered an Ultra with Black/Grey M/L trail loop from Apple.com on the day of the event (9/7). Initially shipping quote was ~10/21. Wasn‘t sure on sizing, so then placed a second order later for S/M; shipping quote ~10/27.

Seeing the trail loops were vaporware immediately pre-launch, I then then picked up an Ultra with Ocean band on release day, with plan to get the loop separately later. Have been loving it, kept the other orders active in case they processed sooner than expected, in which case I could return the Ocean.

Yesterday my return window for the Ultra with Ocean closed.

Was planning to cancel the orders with trail loops tonight…then I received emails from Apple that both orders shipped today! 🤦🏻‍♂️

I would say all three of those reasons are correct. The quality of the material, the softness of it and Velcro being stronger make it worthwhile.
Thanks for the feedback and I totally agree as I've finally got my hands on the blue/grey trail loop this morning.

As someone who has used the Nike sport loop almost every day, the trail loop feels smoother, softer and more premium.

And the blue accent really pops!

Definitely worth the wait!

Is the velcro stronger than the nike? Mine has got weaker over time, no way would trust it in the surf.

I would say so yes.

The velcro is rectangular in shape compared to oval on the Nike sport loop.
thanks, would it be easy to cut that tag off or look bad if you did?
looking at that photo nike has 5 bits of velcro the trail 4
my nike has gone so weak just touching it with your pinky it comes apart

Wouldn’t be hard to cut it off but there is heavy stitching.

So you won’t get a nice clean cut around it.
I don't think I could trust the trail band surfing, the alpine is rock solid, took some heavy wipeouts this morning and it didn't budge. I don't want to be swapping bands and watches either.

Yeh I think if you're surfing the alpine loop would be most secure

For gym sessions or hiking etc, the trail loop should be most comfortable as it's the lightest.

Agreed. I don’t surf, but it takes a precise effort to disengage the clasp on the Alpine band. And even if the clasp became disengaged on its own, the band cannot become loose without pulling through the slot on the lug, which requires passing over each and every one of the little loops and each of those has some some resistance.

For sure, that has been the issue with some bands I have had, looks like the ocean band you could put the lug through 2 holes so the end won't pop out but I havn't tried one.

Yes my blue/grey Trail Loop is growing on me. I actually wanted the black/grey one which I have on preorder separately and I’m looking forward to that. However the blue/grey one does look quite nice too. I must say I do prefer the orange accent pull tab on the black/grey though.
