I get it the case sucks, but all this noise about it is starting to feel like a "me too, me too!" from everyone else basically repeating each other almost word for word. Don't like it don't buy it. I will say though Stephen Hackett's post might be the first I've heard of the misalignment. That to me is a worse offense.

I’m not for killing animals just for the sake of accessorizing things, but considering the number of animals that are being used for food, is all that potential leather just being thrown out now? How is that any better?

Secondly, Apple should stop changing the size of their phones so that we can keep reusing our cases from generation to generation.

This must be the biggest piece of hot garbage that Apple has yet released. I would be really interested in knowing what the thought process was here.

“We can take dirt cheap recycled materials and turn them into a case we can sell at 1000% percent profit? And virtue signal our eco-friendliness while we’re at it? And outsource the leather to Hermés to make even more profit from that? Let’s do it!”

I don't hate it at all. In fact, I kinda like the FineWoven cases. I did order some really nice leather cases too -- but, so far I've been enjoying the feel of the finewoven. I'm not having any issues with my cases either. No scratches, etc. BUT, I did notice that my case definitely has a misaligned charger port opening....

@aParkerMusic Why should I have to try and get a third one?

$65 after tax for a case that has the poorest quality control ive ever seen. The material is nice, but quality isnt there. So tell me, why should I continue to use more gas, more time, more tape to box the item up just to get one that isnt an issue?

How much longer before some enterprising young company introduces a case(wrap) for the Fine Woven Case…yes, I am being 100% completely serious here.
Listen, now it's me who will be completely serious: I've read somewhere that this crappy excuse of a product range can easily be stained (meaning, Apple didn't even bother to waterproof and oil-proof the damned things), and that the solution is to apply one of those aftermarket sprays. And whaddyaknow, they seem to work and add protection at least against contaminants, if not against scratches.

I always buy Apple accessories, FineWoven case/wallet combo however ... I will wait up on more real world scenarios.

Speaking of woven ... this falls into the same category as braided cables for me. I can't keep any of the braided cables in my office/warehouse clean. Other pre-braided Apple cables just a quick wipe and back to looking new.

I don't know how anyone at Apple could look at that case and say yeah let's sell this for $60. They'll love it.

I guess I'll go against the grain here, I have a FineWoven blue case for my 15 Pro Max and don't mind it at all - feels nice, especially the sides, and no alignment issues. I prefer the look of leather on the back instead of FineWoven but not a huge deal. Guess it'll depend on how it stains.
There are already reports that it stains as easily as any other fabric, i.e., like crazy.

I originally was not going to purchase one based off of what I read. I had the chance to handle one in store, and it didn't feel too bad. I have thus far been pleased with it, but I can see why some are not thrilled. I treated mine with scotch guard to just help if anything gets on it.

I'm not sure how long it will last, but I am going for a little while. I personally like the look and feel of it, but a previous poster mentioned it getting loose. That could be an issue, but I haven't encountered it yet. If this thing ends up being a hunk of junk, It will be the last case from Apple.

I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt, but time will tell. I haven't seen this much negativity about an Apple product in a long, long time - so, there is likely some merit to it.

They wanted something marketable as a premium material, which would have been difficult with fake leather.
That could be true but knowing Apple, im sure their marketing team could have come up with something like...

xx% more durable than leather
more premium feel
carefully selected premium materials
with the word "revolutionary" thrown in there somewhere hehehe
etc etc...

Not defending this case because I prefer leather, but Apple DID say that the FineWowen is similar to suede.

Anyone who has bought shoes or any piece of clothing or product made out of suede will know that they will scratch and have marks similar to what these cases are prone to.

Therefore, I wonder why people expect this material to behave and hold itself like leather. It is not.

Have anyone try to run a fingernail down genuine leather? Let me tell you, it will leave a visible mark!

My titanium blue Promax has a clear case problem solved. Why would you want to cover it up?
Cause clear cases are dust magnets and feel pretty cheap (like the 2 dollar plastic they are made off). Seriously. How can some people complain fine woven feels cheap and at the same time suggest slapping a cheap plastic case on the 1000$ phone?

yall trippin. I love my Fine Woven. Soft to touch with a grip. Not on some fan boy ish, I don’t see the issue (maybe the price …. maybe ) .

So legitimate question … what type of material would you have liked to have seen (minus obviously leather) ????
Silicon/plastic of the unapologetic kind. Which, I believe, they still sell, am I right? Or wood. Or pressed cardboard, or whatever…

All this schtick regarding the environment and, yet, they come up with something that is certain to produce microplastics once it degrades, maybe even before it's discarded, oof.

What would it look like if you dragged your keys or fingernail across a leather case?
Lol this comment keeps coming up over and over again. On FineWoven, lightly dragging your fingernail results in a scratch that is basically perm.

Leather you have to use more force. And even then, you can wipe it off or make it less noticable.

Apples leather cases were horrible quality too but the patina, the solid buttons made it somewhat worth it.

A $59 replacement with all these QC issues is not very acceptable and the public are speaking up. It isnt just macrumors, its several forums/twitter/Reddit etc.
