They're wrong with the J5 has just as good of an OLED as the XS Max.
There seems to be a disconnect between what I said and what you're saying. What does the J5 have to do with my comment? I stated years ago Apple fans bashed OLED for its problems, and now love OLED as the other poster claimed.

I'm not familiar with the J series phones or the A, but I am aware (through XDA) the older models had a leg up on iPhones for a long time.

That was part of what they said and the part I was disagreeing with. I swear, reading the post I'm responding to goes a long way.

If you read carefully, as you claim, my post was in regard to OLED in general, and not the J5's AMOLED display. Better than the XR, probably. I bought an XS Max recently. Hard to mistake a midrange 2015 phone's display and think it's equal to the XS Max's.

If I were talking about the J5's AMOLED display, I would have brought it up specifically, and wouldn't have quoted you and brought up the OLED discussion from years ago, which isn't even relevant when you compare the XS Max to the J5 like he/she did because the XS Max didn't exist four years ago.

Somewhere between 0 and 1
Honestly, I can imagine only something with stock Android, such as Pixel running without any noticeable lag for a longer period.

Everything other WILL lag. Whoever is telling you otherwise is lying, and ignoring lags when they happen and say "that? that's nothing". No, no, that is EXACTLY what we are talking about.

Considering that low end Samsung phones like the J5 have had OLED for years and look more vibrant unlike the iPhone, yes I do consider it better.

You mean that Apple calibrates colors correctly and you prefer colors that look horrible. That doesn't mean the screen is better, that means you don't like accurate colors.

Nope, I prefer colors that look great to watch videos, taking pictures with friends and enjoying a great vivid display experience.

And in the opinion of people who judge screens by more than subjective likes.
Such as ?
You're basically saying that if you don't like a certain screen but if it's judged as great by someone non subjective, then it's all good for you. What matters is what you think or like, not what's said online.

Samsung calibrates their flagships correctly too but they give you a choice on colour mode. If you use the Basic setting it is very accurate to the SRGB colour gamut as per displaymate reviews. If you prefer more vibrant colours you can use one of the other colour modes.
[doublepost=1549752868][/doublepost]To get the thread back on topic my S9+ is actually running even better then new after the One Ui update, so no, not all phones lag after time ;)

Oversaturated colors doesn't make a screen good period. Thank god Samsung gives you options when it comes to calibration, I always use the basic mode.

Well to be fair displaymate have given Samsung phones top ranking so I wouldn’t say their displays are horrible.

Oh, Samsung displays are the best. But I doubt they're using their top displays on the J5. That's all I'm saying.

DisplqyMate and any test that tests things like "ability to reproduce colors and how bright it gets".

Most smartphone displays can produce enough brightness nowadays, there's no need to pick one based on DisplayMate. It's the exact same argument vs processors, if you go over benchmarks then you do you.

True. Pick what you like. I prefer the vibrant colors myself, but I still know the XS Max has one of the best screens on the market. I'm able to decouple my personal wants from objective quality.

Nobody said the iPhone XS Max has a bad screen, how could it even be bad if it's manufactured by Samsung?

It's amazing the Apple defender's here. I'm not saying Google's Pixel line is the best, but man, people need to admit the punch list of shortcomings on iPhone's, which would fill up another thread.

It's more iOS that's the problem, than the iPhone hardware itself. Apple just makes a sh!tt OS. Period. But a great phone .

Give me an iPhone XS Max, running stock Android Q, and that'd be the best smartphone ever created to date

Imagine the A12 with 6GB of RAM running Google's version of Android. I know I would buy that fast.
