If you are NOT happy with AT&T's service - Could you let us know what the problem is, and where you are located...

I think we are seeing certain areas throughout the states having more problems than others. It may just be due to the cellular towers in a particular area, or it may be due to the demand for data using mobile internet. We also may just not know the real situation (sad to say). If you live outside of the states, I would like to hear your thoughts as well!

im in the tampa bay area and it works great all the time.....have gone to daytona and orlando...no problems at all..
 
NYC and it's great in most places i go to.

LIC is great. other parts of Queens are good as well. Brooklyn i get a decent signal almost everywhere i go but the backbone from the towers is a bit slow.

in manhattan i work on the west side and in the last 3 weeks it's like night and day. late morning it used to get very slow and now i get very good performance while working in the center of a converted factory building. i was in the Hilton on 6th and 53rd yesterday and it worked great there. few weeks ago at Herald Square not so good
 
I'm thrilled with it. I know it doesn't seem feasible, but service is so much better than it ever was with either of my BlackBerries (Curve, then Bold). I've had maybe 5-6 dropped calls since June 19, and the majority of those were in areas in which coverage has always been spotty to nonexistent. I work from home now and thus spend the bulk of the time sitting here in my kitchen; the signal drops to 4 bars a couple of times a day, maybe, but is nearly always 5 bars (3G).

The only place I don't get passable coverage is inside my parents' house, but I've never had decent coverage there. It's occasionally on 3G, but mostly Edge, and then only has 1-2 bars tops. Rumor has it that they're investigating getting a cell tower somewhere in the vicinity (they live in a very rural, very hilly area); that would be a happy, happy day for me. :)
 
i'm in socal and no problems. just a couple places with no service.. but NO ONE gets service in those remote areas.
 
There are times when AT&T is great, but there are also times when it seems to not work well. Dropped calls are weekly, but not as often as I have had with T-Mobile (daily). Overall, I do think it is the best carrier I have had.
 
I'm about 35 minutes east of Atlanta, and the service is excellent. Especially so since the upgrades that have been done in this area since release of the 3GS. My speed on speedtest.net has increased from a constant 1100kbps about 8 months ago to being consistently over 2100kbps now, and I'm in a rural area. I can compare this with Verizon's 3G speed (I have a Verizon MiFi for work), which maxes out at 1400kbps, and that's only occasionally. Anytime I'm inside any building it (Verizon network) drops to under 100kbps. The only area I see the Verizon network besting the AT&T network in this area is upload speed. Even when I'm getting the fastest download speeds on AT&T, the upload speed is usually 300kbps at best, whereas the Verizon is near 900kbps constantly.
 
I can't say I drop any calls but where I live we only have edge so it sucks for internet. Other than that its ok.
 
I can not make or receive phone calls on my iPhone (or my wife's iPhone) inside our house. Calls received are dropped usually within 20-30 seconds of answering. Same for calls made. I live in Cary, NC (a suburb of Raleigh). My solution is to get a MicroCell unit (I hope that fixes the problem). I would switch back to Sprint (even if I had to pay ETF), except for the fact both my wife and myself absolutely love our iPhones and can not imagine using another phone at this point.
 
Sounds EXACTLY like what I was dealing with when I had Verizon. That was the main reason I came to AT&T, and have been happy ever since. Just goes to show, every carrier is different for each person.

Excellent in Atlanta and Jacksonville, FL.
But I know that there's no 3G at all in St. Augustine, FL.
 
I live in Philly, and service, for the most part, is pretty good. I do get the occassional dropped call; particularly when I'm on the phone with my girlfriend (another iPhone user). But other than that, whenever I pull the iPhone out to make a call or use the apps, the AT&T networks works flawlessly.
 
I am in New York City and my calls drop all the time. My phone constantly shifts from G to E and then sometimes o. Very annoying. My phone is completely unreliable.
 
I've pretty much had no problems, except for yesterday, this happened:

I was in my office, and noticed I had 0 bars. It didn't say no service, just no bars. I went outside, same thing. This is an area where 3G coverage is very good. Tried making a call, but just silence. Drove to lunch and still had no bars. So I thought maybe it was the phone. Powered down completely, then started up, and had 5 bars. Weird.
