I got my Xs Max 256 Silver today and replaced my iPhone 7 Plus. Love the size and speed of the device. I really like the phone. But deep down I kinda feel like I shouldn’t keep this $1,250 phone considering I have a perfectly good 2 year old 7 Plus is running great on iOS 12. Honestly, I may take it back if my conscious gets to me. Wish it wasn’t so expensive.
First time buying an iPhone on release day and boy do I love this phone.
Among all the improvements talked about, the one thing I don't remember them saying was how much faster this phone would be. Boy they weren't lying. I had a 6S with a very short stint with an 8 and my XS blows everything out of the water.

Love it. Finally a Plus sized X.
No problems so far. Activated with my carrier in a matter of minutes, restored from my X backup, let all my apps download... the whole process was about an hour and a half. Since then I’ve noticed no issues with the phone at all. The screen is even and has no dead pixels. The body is pristine. No weird misalignments or anything. Software is working flawlessly.
Yeah, I’m super pleased with it. More than I thought I’d be.
I personally am always happy with the new iPhones, but I'm also easily pleased.
Just opened mine. First thing I notice after peeling off the factory protective film is a small, 1/3rd inch, horizontal scratch near the middle of the screen towards the right side of the screen. Only noticeable when light glares off of the screen and invisible once a screen protector is applied.
I think the screen should be perfect when paying $1500+ for a phone, but I'm tired of exchanging things for small cosmetic things like this. Plus none of the stores around me have any in-stock anyway to do an exchange...

Very happy with my gold XS Max (got one with a great screen). Happy to be back to a large screen after having owned all of the plus models and having spent the last ~10 months with the X.

Yes! Coming from the 8+. Although the “hugeness” wow factor of the screen already wore off, the form factor of being (almost) all screen on the front is why I’m happy with it.
Exchange stock is separate from retail stock. They reserve some phones for replacements. If you’re sure it’s a scratch then go get it exchanged.
I’m stoked man. I’m really loving this iPhone Xs Max. Ive been wanting a phone like this for a long time. Ever since the iPhone 6 came out. I kept saying, if only this iPhone 6 was all screen. Finally. Just a beautiful phone this Max is. Feels good in my hands. Got one with a wonderful display. Just top notch. Really a difference in size from my iPhone X. I can’t say enough. And the photos it takes, let me just stop.
Totally 100% delighted with my XS Max. I upgraded from the iPhone 6 Plus so this thing is like going from a Volkwagon to a Cadillac. I was so resistant to Face ID, but let me tell you I love that the most. Took video and pictures at a football game tonight and they are so beautiful. So yeah... I am happy!
went to best buy and grabbed a max in gold and got the bogo promo from best buy. there was plenty in stock and I was surprised it was so easy to get 2 for the buy one get one promo.
I will be rocking the new max and the Note 8. best of android and ios. I am still transferring some data but so far so good. I hope I don't regret my decision.

I am very happy going from the 8+ to the XS. The upgrade screen quality is significant as is the camera. But mostly, a phone I can use with one hand (mostly...sort of). It feels great and I got used to the new gestures pretty quickly. It feels very natural. Though, I did have the iPad on iOS Beta so I had some time to get used to some of them like swipe down for Control Panel. I love it.
I hate my XS Max! :’( I upgraded from an X and this phone has such a terrible display compared to that. With True Tone off, looking directly head-on to the display, the bottom half of the screen is yellow and the top half is more white, if I tilt the phone slightly then this changes.
It’s the first thing I noticed and after a long journey to the wrong Apple Store (I chose the wrong one the morning pre-orders went live) I felt quite upset. I’m on holiday with this phone and honestly, I don’t even want to use it because it’s giving me a headache.

So happy to be back on a big screen. From the 6+ to the X - that was tough but I adjusted. However now on the Max, the iOS experience feels so much better, especially on the keyboard. Very happy, great screen too. Only wish is for more wallpapers.
Went from the X to the Xs Max. Even the Max feels small and the X is just to dainty now that I have the Max.
