That was what I didn't like about the X, even though I had a 7+ before getting the Max, I didn't like how small the X was compared to the 7+, overall wise, now I have best of both worlds, great size, and edge to edge display, loving my XS Max.
What I really like is the flashlight button on the lockscreen. With this 3d touch press it REALLY feels like a real button.
I’m definitely happy that I decided to upgrade from the X to the XS Max! I was looking at the device on apple.com/att.com/bestbuy.com, Best Buy had the gold and silver modes in stock. I made a split second decision to sell my X on eBay, got off of work and purchased the new device. My AW S4 44mm SS will be here on Mon, I hope this completes my “holiday spending” on myself for this year, lol.
Love mine. It is what I expected and more. Screen and keyboard are fantastic.
Coming from an iPhone 8 Plus, I absolutely love my new XS Max. Skipped last years X because lack of a true Plus-size iPhone, but this time I couldn’t resist. The only thing I don’t like about the new XS Max is the fact that it just shows everything bigger on the homescreen. There is definitely some potential for further improvements.
Not happy with my Max. My 8 Plus display looks so much brighter and whiter versus the dingy yellow of the Max. Also the Max felt quite warm during set up.

Did you turn of true-tone and tweak the color-scheme? I did that and now it does'nt look yellowish at all.
How many of us that upgraded from 6/7/8 Plus etc... try to press the home button out of habit.

The only thing I keep doing is swiping up from the bottom for the control centre

XS Max here, space gray. I love it!! It's my first larger sized phone, never bought any of the "Plus" phones. The thing that really amazes me is how fast and reliable the Face ID is. I actually started to think it wasn't doing anything, so I woke up the phone with it facing away from me to convince myself it remained locked lol - and of course it did. You just doin't even see it doing anything to unlock most of the time, it just is unlocked! Amazing.

Love it...have been waiting since last year for the Plus size X phone.
Only thing is I haven't gotten used to the new gestures yet and keep accidentally reaching for the Touch ID still LOL

Nice phone, but I feel robbed. AFAIK, could have had the same as last year, for a slightly lower price.

I was a little scared. Have upgraded every two years and since the 6 have done the plus models. I have the Space Grey XS now and am completely satisfied with it. Nice to not feel like I have a brick in my pocket. Did the IUP program so if I miss the big screen I can upgrade to the (XI?) next year.
Yes. It’s so big. But it doesn’t feel big. It’s not fat. Not even with my case. There’s so much room for texting and typing. YouTube videos are awkward though since they can’t utilize the full screen for some reason. Awkward resolution I am guessing, but other than that I’m quite happy with this
I did that at first and then I turned True-tone back on and adjusted a bit with it on and the yellow went away. IMO out of the box they had it set a little too warm.
I love it! I came from an iPhone 7 and this thing is soooo much better. Watching videos, Netflix, movies are all awesome should I ever need to. I usually don’t watch anything besides short YouTube and Facebook stuff on my phone but that may change now.
The Face ID thing is legit. I’m not sure if it was just suckier last year but I’ve had 0 issues even today when I’m wearing a hat. It works flawlessly regardless of my hands are a little wet or not unlike Touch ID. The ONLY issue I had with Face ID is when I had my hand covering my mouth and tried to open the phone at the same time.
This thing is worth every penny. I like the True Tone screen too. It’s easier on the eyes. Thanks to that and the larger size I could definitely read books on here now too instead of using my ancient iPad mini that may be retiring.

This thing takes "Plus" to another level. Completely out of control. Love it.
I was a plus person for a while but had to get the X last year because it was finally something new from Apple. I loved it but missed the large size for many things. Typing. Video. Battery. Etc. So this is my perfect recipe! Enjoying.
So far I'm quite happy with it. I don't have the yellow issues that some people seem to have. It's a lot faster than the X and the camera is awesome. It's a good upgrade.
I like the bigger screen. I just wished they allowed it to scale and display icons at 5x7.
Exact same for me, except I was coming from a 6+ so I've been missing a big phone for the last year.
The XS Max exceeded all my expectations -- the form factor is perfect, battery life screams, it feels great in the hand (shout-out to Flossy Carter), and it looks AMAZING! I can't stop holding it and playing with it.
Very happy Apple customer over here.
