I absolutely love mine. I'm coming from an iPhone X, and I forgot how much I missed the bigger screen. Some apps look a little *too* large right now, but not in that blown-out way that old iPhone 6 Plus apps did back on the original release when devs hadn't optimized yet.

Took it for a trail run this morning with my new S4 watch (I use a FlipBelt for my phone when I'm not running w/a pack) -- GPS was dead on, everything worked beautifully.

I did have "quirks" going from S0 to S4 watch where the restore from backup was a bit buggy, but after resetting the S4 to new, it's perfectly fine. Same w/restoring from backup of iPhone X -- in Settings, I couldn't search, etc. Did a Reset all settings (which keeps your data but wipes all your settings) and that fixed it.

Now everything's dialed in and working like a charm. :) Think I'm gonna keep this one for the full two years at least -- it's everything I was looking for in a phone -- fast LTE, great camera, beautiful big screen, gorgeous gold color, etc ;)

I‘m so happy. The screen is bit yellow and I have to get used to the new display size (normal xs, coming from a 7) but damn I‘m happy.

It‘s a bit hard for my thumb to reach the notch areas without changing the „position“ of my hand. Even with big hands

Try navigating the max corners with one hand the finger gymnastics is real lol

I went from the X to the XSM and I have to say I might be the only one who wants to return it for the XS. The phone is so wide. The length isn’t so much of an issue but the width (that’s what she said) is annoying to me especially when adding a case and I don’t have small hands but I also don’t have MKBHD sized hands either. I don’t consume a lot of media on my phone so a 6.5 inch screen isn’t really a necessity. I’m gonna play with it a few more days but I think I may return it for an XS.

Did this today. Prior to this past year with the X I had every iteration of the + iPhones. Took a little bit of time but I have grown to like the size of the X. Preordered the XS Max and didn’t open it. Went to my local apple store today play with the max and it felt great. Liked how it felt. Without the case I think it would have been fine. Once I slapped a leather apple case the max just became to cumbersome for me. Exchanged the XS max for an XS with no regrets. I think the Max is a great device with an incredible screen however the size of the x and xs work better for me and when I need a larger screen I always have my 10.5 iPad. My x will go to my wife to replace her 6S+.

I got a thin adidas case from AT&T and the phone felt beastly! It was like I had no choice to use both hands... The fact that both phones are essentially the same minus battery and screen size makes it feel like an easier choice lol.

I’m very happy with it! I always enjoyed the bigger screen on the Plus models for YouTube/Netflix reasons. It also takes away any need to get an iPad since I have a 13 inch MacBook Pro.

I shouldn’t have upgraded from my X. Camera is better of course but other than that, nothing really.

For the record, I always had every iPhone available and even changed colours sometimes in mid cycle; so it’s not a matter of not wanting to upgrade.

I really like my Xs max. Wondering if I should offer my X to one of my sisters who have older iPhones, or send it in when the box comes.

you're not the only one. im going to switch to the xs. the max is pretty heavy and the size is alright but with the extra tall screen, i feel like i'm playing finger gymnastics all day.

This is first time I’ve had fun just playing with a phone for the sake of it since the 5 came out. It’s a bigger upgrade from the 6s than I thought it would be! I’m still amazed by the screen, I look over at my partners 6s and the screen looks tiny. Mine is also just a regular Xs, no max.

I know the giddy feeling will wear off, but it is a lot fun for now - and I’m really enjoying camera too.

I couldn’t be happier. I purchased the Max strictly for the larger screen. I wasn’t expecting any other new features, and any supplied are just a bonus. Even with some of the issues that you will see on the forum, I’m still incredibly happy. I have an s8 plus for my work phone, and really cant stand the android software. Especially typing. It is so inaccurate and annoying.

Everything is really good except for the mediocre wifi signal strength/wifi speed (for me at least).

I’m not enjoying the max as much as I love to. The phone is way too heavy for long usage. It’s tiring using my pinky to cradle the phone from the bottom. Happy apple restocked so I’m picking up the regular xs later today.

I am really digging' my new Max. It has been flawless since day one. Keeps a good signals, screen as it should be, and battery life is nice and long. Still adjusting to the new two-handed use again, after having the iPhone X. I don't regret upgrading at all. I wanted a bigger screen last year.

To use a old SNL line...Apple has been berry, berry good to me." (Garret Morris skit)

are you happy with your new iPhone Xs, have you had any problems with your new device? I’ve had my Xs Max for 3 hours now and loving it, the screen is beautiful and the nectarine case looks great on the device

Yes, I like it. The screen is awesome and the speed of everything is fine. I'm getting used to no Home button and FaceID. I'm quite pleased with how light it is and yet no longer than the 8+ I replaced this with.

OT: Since you are into trail running, (which I love) check out this video. ;)

I'm VERY happy with the Max. Thought I would miss the home button, but this swipe to exit an app, or switching apps is so much faster! Love landscape mode also.

I did have my first heart dropping "What the heck moment" though last night. I launched YouTube, immediately the screen went black..3, 4 seconds later the Apple logo showed up and rebooted. Hoping that had something to do with syncing and then adjusting settings with the watch - I was doing that 15, 20 minutes before that happened and this was some one time only fluke.

I posted about this last night (a thread). I’m an 8+ user who has grown tired of having a huge phone with me. The XSM is king for video but doesn’t hold much of an advantage over XS outside of that. I am big on photo editing and was very surprised at how small of a difference there was in size of a photo being edited between the XSM & XS.

Regarding text, web pages there isn’t much difference either.

My opinion is if you LOVE video the XSM is your phone. If video isn’t a priority then it isn’t that big of a difference.

Yes.. I’m not accounting for battery life as I have seen the battery life of the X be very sufficient and access to a plug is generally available.

Interesting to note that the size of a photo being edited on my 8+ blows the XSM & XS away. I was shocked. I am still wanting to go smaller footprint and with video being low-priority for me I don’t see a need for the XSM.

I have the same issue with my pinkie and 8+. Extended times and it isn’t enjoyable. My wife got her X at launch last year and everytime I use/test it I’m jealous. Feels perfect in-hand... and I was a serious critic of the size of the X.

I am considering buying an Xmax. I went from 7+ to X and I want to go back to the wider screen phone. I am a bit concerned about the Wi-Fi speed due to the auto selection of 2.4 GHz over the 5 GHz speed. Have you tried their Xmax with a Google Router? The name of both frequencies is the same and one can't manually select a frequency, unless the phone is set at only particular frequency.

My advice is identify where you want wider screen and compare at a store if possible. Video is better but outside of that you may not see significant advantages with the XSM.

I came from an X to the XS and honestly, it's not that big of a deal for me. The "Gold" is really more of a smoky gold than a gold. And the screen is absolutely no different than the X as far as size goes. So right now I'm on the fence about it. Can I still return it after I've activated it to the Apple store?
