Personally I'd like to keep my jailbreak primarily because I don't want to pay for hotspot but I am also curious about iOS 8. I did see an .ipcc file that I wonder if it'll work with 8 because it unlocked hotspot. And I know when 8 hits, 7 firmware won't be signed by apple anymore.

Meh

Keeping my iphone 5 jailbroken on 7.1.2 cause im getting the 6. Ios 8 honestly makes ios pretty usable vanilla to me... Jailbreaking is starting to not be my priority with it because its a great system

does anyone really need to jailbreak now? didn't think so.
Uhm yeah. This question is asked every time there's a new iPhone or a new jailbreak.

Let me know when Apple implements f.lux into iOS. Then and only then will there be no need for jailbreaking.

Jailbreaking, BTW, is the only thing keeping me remotely sane on this god-awful version (7.1.2) of iOS.

Looking back at what I said in September about me not wanting to upgrade my phone to iOS 7 'it's too slow and ugly!' I now don't regret it. It looks much better. I never had a jailbreak there anyway; and even if I did, my favourite tweaks wouldn't work because they require ios 7 features.

One of my problems is that some of the tweaks I used a lot either are not updated or are lacking some same features.

Forecast for instance. I think it's great that now there is animated weather. But over your own wallpaper? How about the weather icon that was dead center in Forecast for iOS 6? Well, that's relegated to being in the weather description under the temperature. Oh sure, you can move it to the bottom left too, but the icon is still small.

Forecast for iOS 7 also doesn't show your city. You have to scroll to the right. Gridlock is missing. Dashboard X is missing, Folder Enhancer has less features. I'm waiting on Mail Enhancements for iOS 7 too. Apparently, they don't mean 7.1.2 when they say iOS 7.

I just seem to be missing a lot compared to my JB on iOS 6. I love my phone, just not iOS 7.

right? i know how you feel man. now you have joined those of us who now hate vanilla ios because of 7.

There are certain things such as intelliscreenx, folder enhancer, mail enhancer, bitesms, alt keyboard 2 etc that are reasons to JB. If apple implemented these things there would be no reason. Not to mention the ability to use the phone as a hotspot without paying extra since I pay die unlimited data already and should be able to use it as I please

Btw us flux really that good? I tried it but didn't like the way it changed the colors

Yeah i hate flux. It makes it look like someone peed in my digitizer...

My first mistake was upgrading to 7 from my jailbroken 6. I learn from my mistakes. Not upgrading my 4S for anything.

Reasons for Jailbreak

There can be many reasons why people even bother to jailbreak their devices.

- They may want more features and functions, other than the usual stuff from the stock ios 7.

- They may want the themes to customize the look of the software, like Winterboard, Dreamboard Etc.

- They are just bored.

What you guys think?

I'm not sure yet. I don't like having my device not jail broken. But, of course, the people with the iPhone 6 have no choice. I've ran iOS 8 Beta 5 and I like it, but not enough to completely give up my jailbreak.

I need an occasional tether on iPhone. So I'll hold off. Once iOS 8 JB is out, time to upgrade phone baby!!

I'll probably install it straight away on my ipad. On my 5S I'd definitely miss the likes of auxo, apex, swipe selection etc. but I am looking forward to trying ios8

If they come out with a 5.5 inch screen and 128 gb model, I will be on it like a fat kid on smarties. But I'll keep my jailbroken 5S as an ipod and backup for when my battery gets low.

I'd rather invest in a battery case.

I have one already, and several portable batteries, but the bigger screen and more space to hold stuff is the clincher. I have the ipod 5g too, so probably just pass that along to one of the kids like I did my 4s.
