keeping jailbreak without a second thought. f.lux alone (and my health) is too important since the iphone is one of my main browsers, let alone so many other things.

i realy dont get the immediacy of upgrading. At all. I can wait a couple months, its not like i havent already been using ios devices the way i am for a year(s) now.

----------

Uhm yeah. This question is asked every time there's a new iPhone or a new jailbreak.

Let me know when Apple implements f.lux into iOS. Then and only then will there be no need for jailbreaking.

Jailbreaking, BTW, is the only thing keeping me remotely sane on this god-awful version (7.1.2) of iOS.

which would u say was the best version? what is it about ios 7 u dont like? isnt safari much better?

----------

Yeah i hate flux. It makes it look like someone peed in my digitizer...

Btw us flux really that good? I tried it but didn't like the way it changed the colors

well u guys really should give it another try as its really not a "preference" thing and only better for ur health, that would otherwise probably suffer. And i did notice a difference after givin it some time wen i first initialy used it.

As in i absolutely hate using any monitors at nite without it now. They are jarring and i cant believe i used any screens without it for that long.

----------

My first mistake was upgrading to 7 from my jailbroken 6. I learn from my mistakes. Not upgrading my 4S for anything.

why dont u upgrade to 7.1.2? signing window is still open.

those sites show the status. it will probably stay open for a little longer.

For me, iOS 6. It was the version I was on when I had to give my iPhone 5 up to replace a bulging battery. If it wasn't for the fact that I know I cannot downgrade I'd be scouring the internets for how to do it and finding all the fake information and irrelevant Youtube videos that are currently out there.

I do not like the interface. It's preschoolish, inspired by FisherPrice and PlaySkool. Thankfully, I can theme it, which makes it easier to get along with, but it still bugs me.

I don't like that CC has essentially replaced the NC and that there are no more widgets in the NC. Dashboard X has been killed for me. Forecast is now a joke and I've resulted to an iWidget to get something on my Springboard that resembles the old Weather Widget that used to be in the NC. I don't like the fact that quite a few of my JB tweaks have either been modified or now have less features.

Take FolderEnhancer for example. I have 5ColumSpringboard. But because of the new way Apple handles folders, FolderEnhance only displays 4 rows across in a folder now, instead of five. I can handle how it scrolls to the right now, but I did prefer the previous way of scrolling down.

As to Safari. I hate it. I hate it on my Macs, I hate it on my PCs and I hate it on my devices. I never use it. Apple could make it perfect and I would never know because I use TenFourFox on my Macs (PowerPC), TenFourFox Intel on my MP at work and Dolphin on my iPhones.

When I am forced to use Safari I resent every moment of using that POS. It's one of the first apps I hide whenever I set up my iPhone.

That's unfortunate. Seems like lots of anger built up about these things that aren't worth your stress. I personally love Safari (except for one thing) and how well it integrates with all my other devices. The one thing btw is that I can't figure out a way to make it default to a certain zoom level because I like to increase the font size when browsing.

Yes, it's anger. And you're right, it's nothing that's worth my stress. I honestly don't think about it until it comes up. But Safari's been on my bad side for a long time because of the way it works (or doesn't). And it's completely uncustomizable. I can customize TenFourFox (Firefox) any which way to Sunday. All Safari will give me is extensions (and that only happened in the last few versions).

Dolphin integrates well with everything I do and it even has an addon that allows me to work with TenFourFox/Firefox. That's useful to me as I'm still on PowerBooks and PowerMacs and the only Intel Mac I have access to is at work. Consequently, any integration between Safari on iOS and OS X is an Intel only thing.

Just bought Eclipse the other day. Wow. Nightmode for everything takes a little getting used to, and there's a slight lag on my 4S, but it IS a 4S, after all.

Eclipse is cool. I'm glad you can exclude some apps though. I have to exclude Facebook for instance as nightmode with black text is not really readable. But overall it does a great job.

TenFourFox? Why do you use that on an Intel Mac? It's severely deprecated and borderline obsolete. Firefox is out there and great (it's my primary browser).

That being said, Safari is my go to on iOS. It's fast, it works, and I hate third party browsers. Chrome is horrid (even more so on desktops now). The others I don't even consider - they're nice on Android but nothing is as smooth as Safari and integrates that well with the OS. I use Safari for push notifications on Mac so it's nice to use if I need iCloud tabs.

iOS 7 Safari is superior to iOS 6's counterpart. It has a unified bar, faster across the board due to optimizations, and not an ugly blue anymore (I use it exclusively in private mode to get the dark theme). I also like the bottom bar disappearing after you scroll.

It's not the best browser in the world, for sure. None are perfect to be honest: Safari lacks extensions, Firefox sometimes lags a bit, and Chrome is just bad and steals your privacy. Plus, Chrome is a joke to use on a retina Mac. It lags so bad when scrolling and consumes my battery in an instant that I ditched it forever and switched back to FF.

I really want to make the switch back to Safari from Chrome on my MacBook, but the lack of favicons in the bookmarks bar really annoys me.

I'm keeping my jailbreak. Though it's not my main phone anymore, I still use it a lot and it is too slow. But battery life was very good on it... Eh.

Staying on ios 7.1.2 Until a jailbreak comes available.

Both my ipad and iPhone Will not update.

Preferabel when ios 8.1 comes out , got enough bad experience when iOS 7 came out.
