Are you switching to iOS 8 or keeping your Jailbreak?

Just upgraded to GM. It seems like a polished version of iOS 7 but there are a few things about iOS that annoy me and only a jailbreak can fix...back to 7.1.2 for me.

i went to iOS8 on my iPad 3 for about 30 minutes before having to go back to iOS 7.1.2.

i just cannot stand how huge the app icons on the springboard are by default. i have gotten too used to springtomize among other things that just didnt justify the upgrade on my iPad.

ios 8 is very close to making me go vanilla... im keeping my 5 on 7.1.2 jailbroken but considering just using my 6 vanilla. its a great OS, and has everything i want besides a few graphics changes that i can live with. i will still probably jailbreak my 6 when it comes out but only to hide a few status bar icons, and simplify the lockscreen.

I tried 8.0 for a few days on my 5S and then decided the small things I noticed on 8 were not worth losing my JB over. I'll stay on 7.1.2 on my iPhone and iPads till there is a JB.

I refuse to go without my adblocker and a few other things.

In semi panic mode

I WANT to jaibreak just because of iOS 8.

iOS 7x slowed down the i4 and i4S. Besides, I only have 16 GB of storage and already I have quite a bit used up. If I do not jailbreak, Apple will push the download onto my device (ready to be installed) sucking up even more storage.

So is there an untethered JB for iOS 7.1.2 that is reliable for the iPhone 5? The Pangu version seemingly isnt.

Sticking with the jailbreak for now. iOS 8 is great from what I've played around with, but it's not worth losing my jailbreak over.

Speaking of which, does anyone think we'll see ports of the 3rd party keyboards coming to iOS 7? That would be awesome, but aside from touchpal, probably not very likely.

probably not. I'd imagine there's some sort of API for 3rd party keyboards that's not included in iOS 7

A3Tweaks tweeted this afternoon a teaser for a (watered down) version of Alt Keyboard they have submitted to the App Store. So it looks like we will be getting at least some of the jailbreak functionality in the keyboards department with iOS 8.

One more day left. You guys who haven't updated to 7.1.2 better do it tonight. I'm going to do a fresh install or 7.1.2 tonight then rejailbreak.

One of my reasons to jailbreak was to install Insomnia to force the Wifi to be on all the time at work. Since we got no cell signal at work, it was important for me to have Wifi on all the time so I could get iMessage on time. Plus, I used to forward my calls to Google Voice. Now, we do get cell signal at work so when iOS 8 is released, I will definitely be losing my jailbreak to install it.

Anyone who upgrades to iOS 8 from a jailbroken device on 7.1.1 or 7.1.2 I'd have to ask why you didn't just go back to stock a couple of months ago? Why are you even jailbroken? Sure, I want a shiny new keyboard but it's basically iOS 7 with keyboards and some health crap thrown in there. No way would I lose my JB.

I still haven't decided. I kind of want to upgrade to iOS 8 but I know I would miss VirtualHome quite a bit. I'm not sure I would miss any of my other tweaks too much.

I ran IOS 8 GM for the past few days and was not impressed. Battery was horrible and there were some slight performance issues here and there, especially in Safari. Back to 7.1.2 jailbreak before the signing window closes.

iOS 8 is tempting, given that they're implementing custom keyboards which takes away my need for iKeyWi - although, I haven't actually seen any of those keyboards, so I don't know if any will be as customizable as iKeyWi.

Plus, the feature that lets you password-lock individual apps is really nice for a parent whose three-year-old plays with my iPad a lot. Does anyone know if there's a free JB for that? I'm not sure I'm willing to spend money on tweaks right now when I might go ahead and update to 8 at some point (probably after the initial bugs are worked out).

Losing iFile would kinda suck, because it has saved my ass a few times, but I haven't actually used it in ages. SBSettings, which used to be one of my favorites, never updated for iOS 7.

Browser Changer is one I'd definitely miss. I don't suppose they're letting you change the default browser in iOS 8, are they?

ios8 update prompt

Will there be a prompt for the ios8 update if you are jailbroken? I am running 7.0.4 jailbreak currently and when I check the software update it searches with no results.
