Uhm yeah. This question is asked every time there's a new iPhone or a new jailbreak.

Let me know when Apple implements f.lux into iOS. Then and only then will there be no need for jailbreaking.

Jailbreaking, BTW, is the only thing keeping me remotely sane on this god-awful version (7.1.2) of iOS.

It's only been a few hours but I already miss f.lux big time and cleverpin since I'm not on a TouchID.

*squints one eye*

I have to disagree. I have a few minor issues after the jaibreak. For me, stability is more important than features, tweaks, and customizations.

I just JB with Pangu a few days ago. I will see how things go, I might just do a DFU restore and go back to stock 7.1.2 and ignore the iOS update notification.

Yes, except iOS8 doesn't offer much stability. I did it and kind of regret it would take it back if I could. Safari sucks on this thing it's buggy as hell. The way the bookmarks tab opens a left panel and stays open even AFTER selecting a bookmark is frustrating the hell out of me (talking iPad). Why would they make you close it. I can't wait for a jailbreak that will polish things up.

^. I would not update to iOS 8. It makes no sense on my device. It came with iOS 6 and I upgrade to 7. I noticed a bit of hit in performance and in RAM. It's not as smooth as 6.x that came stock with it.

I am still incredibly baffled how iOS 8 is larger in size and yet Apple didn't boost the RAM on the iPhone 6's. I wonder if this is going to be similar to the "you're holding it wrong" fiasco several years ago.

Important tweaks for me are multitasking gesture and lastapp. So, I'll clean install iOS 8 tonight.

Well that might be the case for you. Been doing this since iOS 5 and it's always better than stock. Better battery life, things move quicker and get things done more efficiently.

Have tried stock a couple of times and always have to come back.

Apple is still signing iOS 7.1.2 according to http://www.icj.me/ios/

So I decided to go from 7.1.1 ==> 7.1.2 just in case
Nothing wowing for me in iOS 8, I'll happily stay jailbroken in 7

There is nothing tempting me in iOS8 to upgrade my 4S. There wasn't anything tempting me to upgrade to 7.1.2 either. Come to think of it, why I upgraded to 7 from 6 I'll never know. Oh, wait, I remember now. It was the thing to do. "Fool me once. . ."

iOS 7 backup as a restore on iOS 8

Sorry if this has already been asked, didn't have much luck finding a thread on this.

I'm currently running iOS 7.0.4 on my Jailbroken iPhone 5. I'm receiving the 6 tomorrow. Do I have to un-jailbreak my 5 before backing up and being able to restore that backup on my 6, or can I simply backup my 5 as is and restore that backup straight away on my 6 which will contain iOS 8, or it won't be compatible?

Thank You!!

I will be keeping my IOS7 jb. I upgraded to ios 7 when it first came out and really missed my tweaks. There's nothing "wow" that's makes me want to upgrade my 5s

Gonna stick with Jailbreak until it comes for ios 8.

want to have the iPhone 6 plus with emulators running on it. Would be SWEET!

Nothing special about iOS 8 to sacrifice my jb. Still waiting...

I hope the evad3ers-Team is the first one releasing a jb. I do not trust pangu that much.

why dont you trust them?
Pangu messed up my iPhone 5, not horribly but annoyingly where apps are randomingly crashing, signal strenght is off, safari being flaky, etc. I know it's Pangu because I havent installed more than a few apps and there is no customizations. It all started with Pangu and there is no support at all from the Pangu team. I say avoid it.

Any how, now because of the above instability, I have to restore using DFU and I am forced to update to iOS 8 since I can't do a DFU recovery unless I do so.

7.1.2 stays on iPhone 5 until iOS 8 jb then I might flip it.

8.0 on newly acquired 6, vanilla until it can not be

Going to 8.0 on an otherwise jb-able device strikes me as foolish in my estimation.

Just backup and restore that to your new iPhone. No need to unjailbreak.

I'm not due for a phone upgrade until the end of January. I'll most likely update my jailbroken iP5 to iOS 8 sometime in December so I can play around with it. While I prefer a jailbroken device, it's not a big deal to me whether I'm jailbroken or not. Plus, I waste alot less time tweaking my phone when I'm on stock iOS. :p

Got ios 8 on my plus
For the first time I am thinking on loosing the jb on my iPad Air especially when Yosemite is released for my rMBP

why dont you trust them?

Well, actually you can't trust anybody who enables you to jailbreak your device. With jailbreaking you open the doors for spy- and malware on your iDevice. I enjoy the opportunities after jailbreaking my iPad and iPhone, but I am also afraid of my data getting sucked somewhere into the cloud without my knowledge.

Same to me here. When there is still no jb available for iOS 8 after Yosemite's release, I'll loosing it.

At this point, the only reason I want to jailbreak is to remove the NC and CC grabbers on the lock screen, the slide to unlock text, remove the SwiftKey logo from their keyboard (if someone makes a tweak for this), unlimited safari tabs, make the lock screen status bar the same size as the other status bar and maybe remove icon labels.

So basically I just want to clean up the UI a bit, and also download some gesture tweaks, hopefully people will also make tweaks that take advantage of the 4.7 and 5.5" screens
