Last four updates:

March 2009
Time between: 11 months
April 2008
Time between: 10 months
August 2007
Time between 11 months
October 2006

Average time between those updates: ~10.67 months

Just to clear things up a bit ;)
I was going to say Apple had gotten to the point of about once a year, thanks for the timeframe. It should be noted that its been 2 years for this alum iMac style. Time for a slight change and thinner chin?

August to April is 10 months? That's something I didn't know.

My bad, sorry. Edited it, so it's correct now

Maybe, maybe... Laptops have stole market share from iMacs so it's one reason why there are fewer updates everytime. We all know it's close now, maybe matter of days

The only reason I'm waiting is for the rumored price drop.

Even without a price drop, it doesn't make a lot of financial sense to purchase a new Mac when it's close to the end of a product cycle.

I don't expect any sort of media event for this. Just a silent update via press release.

I hope something happens in the next few days. I'm without a computer at home and it just isn't smart to buy something if a new one will be released very shortly.

maybe today or tomorrow!

Because Tallest Skil has been banned.
Also, no rumors is better than misleading rumors with no substance anyways.

I'm going to applaud you now. :)

And FYI, you people who noted increased ship times and suddenly thought it meant anything should have looked at a world holiday calendar. ;) Just sayin'.

So who thinks we're getting new iMacs?

I'm waiting and waiting for an imac refresh. Currently don't have a home computer as I sold my Dell Quad system. I've heard many people think new iMacs this week/next week. But some people think this is blown way out of proportion and we aren't getting any new updates in regards to new iMacs, at least not until January.

I'd like to see one within the next two weeks so I can get one!

What do you guys think? Yes or No?

Not this week, next week at earliest. Wonder if Apple are going to wait till windows 7 comes out before they release the new iMacs? If they have had a major design change then i think an event is called for and they wouldn't want to clash with the 22nd october.

See I think that Apple doesn't want to do it next week because Windows 7 is coming out. Regardless of the new iMacs, Windows 7 will trump it because it's Windows. So I'm thinking Apple would want to release new iMacs this week so they can maximize that time.

Yes, i mean it could be a silent update and they could be in the store tomorrow but if the new redesigned MacBook is coming out as well as the imacs then i think that deserves an event.

I was sort of wondering about the Windows 7 timeframe with the iMac/Mac Mini releases as well!

The Mac Mini reads that it will ship in 3-5 business days in the Apple Online Store, while the iMac/MacBook says within 24 hours to 1-3 business days.

I don't think I'd buy one of the new ones (I just refreshed my hardware a few months ago), but I'm eager to see what they come up with.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for an Apple TV refresh, too.

If apple was going to release the imac, it should have been the begging of october. Any later, will just cause windows 7 to overshadow the mac in the newsworld. Since they haven't released it yet, They really should wait until november 16-18th. This would give them a good week and a half to hype up before black Friday and long enough for the windows 7 hype to die down.

This is the current availibilty of the iMac at John Lewis here in the UK.

John Lewis Availibilty

For non UK forum members, John Lewis is a quality department store here in the UK that are regarded quite highly as a place to purchae Apple computers. Might not mean anything but hey, just thought I'd add some fuel to the rumour fire;);)

im expecting a spec bump and price drop but no redesign. hopefully a $999 model but prob not. knowing apple they will only take $100 off if they do anything. most likely the only model to actually see a price drop will be the mini with a $499 model so they can finally say they have a >$500 computer.

I don't care what they do, I just want them to do something so I know I can get the most recent update when I order soon.
