I've been waiting, but the Mac Pro is just a bit too expensive for not enough features I want.. Like AirPort wireless, ability to use the remote, DDR3 memory (I was looking at the 1999 refurb yesterday with DDR2.)

So for me it's either a current gen iMac or MBP.

ok in that case go for a 15 mbp and hook up a nice 23 inch widescreen... i have one from dell and its better than the 24 imac monitor cause not shiny.

yea you would think there would be some pics or something if there was something to release.

It didn't leak in 2007 when it went aluminum, but I agree that lately almost everything leaked. We did see the new keyboard early though.

I reiterate, NO NEW IMACS THIS YEAR...... You can keep speculating and eventually you will be right..... Next year that is....

It really comes down to what chips Apple plans to use. If it's Clarksfield, then they are coming soon.

Should Apple wait for Arrandale, early next year.

Thing is, there has been a lot of evidence to suggest that it is happening sooner rather than later.

I don't think they'll come before the end of the month. My local Apple store is shut for a refurb until 30th October.

my local apple store was shut down for renovations during the Snow Leopard release.

if you say so. I figure next week is the absolute latest I can wait without getting a new pc

I think zedsdead has no evidence of that yet, it's just a guess. As I've said million times before, it may be next Tuesday or March 2010, NOBODY KNOWS!

Don't think there's going to be something till next year.

No you're wrong because of a lot of reasons:)
Google adsenses(thinner imac, cheaper mac mini etc)... apple event... some stores with "technical problems" (in Italy where I am from) etc etc...
I think everything'll be clear next week:D

I don't remember well what I read about it... it wasn't a real event but something dealing with economical results of apple going to be shown next week if I'm not wrong.
If I find that news I make you know : )

btw You have to think about Win7... october 22... so next week'll be the right one according to me :p
...and 20 comes first than 22 :D

I agree. More "Mac fans" should realize, just as Steve Jobs did years ago (1997?) that for Apple to suceed, Microsoft does not have to fail, and vice versa.

Nonsense, he only said that when Apple badly needed some MS cash, to recover from the disastrous non-Jobs era.

We all know that truly, deeply, for Apple to succeed, Microsoft (the devil's spawn no less) needs to die. With a stake through it's heart. And quicklime in the grave. And an exorcism ceremony held in Redmond.

Only then will Apple be able to reach it's final destiny, to free us from the tyranny of choice... umm, er... oops.

Ubuntu anyone?

Try and go to apple.com it is not working maybe its the new iMacs!!! But if you get a direct link to the store you can browse but the homepage is down.

Not sure, im thinking next week, and if nothing then, then not until 2010 January-March......

There's got to be a good chance it will be one week after Windows 7 launch.

Let MS have their party and then, one week later, boom - new form factor iMacs with touch control mouse.

Then Apple can claim that despite being only a week old, Windows 7 is now already out of date, thanks to Mac's exciting new touch developments in desktop machines.

"Once again, Mac leads the way", "This exciting new touch technology puts the Macintosh 3 years ahead of the competition", "Our competition are only just starting to catch up with OS X after ten years - just as we are moving into the exciting world of touch computing", etc, etc, etc.

I can't stand this waiting. It seems like we won't be seeing anything this week. Rumors are awful things! You have rumor sites report something and then they don't mention anything for two weeks and act like they never reported anything...What's the good point of a rumors site if they don't follow up on the information they report? (I'm talking about Appleinsider here).

Ok man, I feel your pain. I'm waiting for one too. But I feel like the ones here that are suggesting an October 20-21 release have a very strong point because of the release of Windows 7. I'd say wait at least until next week is over. If anything I feel next week is our biggest bet and the most probable release window for this month.

And if nothing happens, well...just keep waiting some more?....Ahhh, I don't know, this is all so f*cked up. The insanity of it all...
