hmmm...is this an iPad?

I don't have an iCloud icon on my safari app in my iPhone 5. However, wherever I do see this, it typically means the items there are not located on that device, but in iCloud, or on some other device. I'm really not sure how to manage these...maybe someone else can chime in?

It will eventually clear out. It's still recognizing the device before it was restored as well as after you restored.

Seems like I just have to be patient. :) thanks so much for the help, guys!

Anyone else experiencing this particular weirdness on iOS 7 iMessage ??

My friend and his wife (and myself) are all on iOS7 now ... I get a text from my friend earlier ... halfway through the chat I realize it's his wife and not him - but she's texting from HER phone/number, not his! Huh?

No, actually, it does not "act like an app". Open it, then do the running apps swipe (four up), you will see that the home screen (which they added in iOS 7) is replaced by Newsstand. The five-finger close swipe does not work on it, because it is the home screen, all apps home to Newsstand. I only ever use the home button for one thing, to exit the jiggly icon rearrange mode, and to take screenshots. Two things, to exit jiggly icons, take screen shots and force restart – three, three things ...

It is just wrong that Apple should force me to use the home button when I should not have to, they need to fix this (not that I actually use Newsstand).

Did not realize this. I gather from your references to swiping gestures that you're referring to iPad? I've only upgraded to 7 on my phone thus far.

...There's no iCloud button, but there is a list of your iCloud tabs. Go to the tab view and scroll down all the way past the tabs.
OH, ok, if that's what it looks like on iPad, then what that is, for me, it is the last open tabs from safari on my mac...I think this works with PC too if you have a browser linked to iCloud. ...or it is the last open tabs from safari on other idevices that have the same iCloud.
OK, I've checked everywhere, anyone know where you set your device's air drop identity?

Both my iPhone and my ipad are using my sons contact name and picture even though my contact is the one setup as 'me'.

The only thing I can think of is my sons email address is one of the ones setup against my Apple ID for using FaceTime and iMessage

Any help?
I think it has to do with the email associated with the Apple ID.

...so are you saying your son is set up to use the same email as you for FT/iMsg? If yes, then, you need to set up a separate email for him, separate the two of you. Once you do this, add his new email to his contact info, delete your email from his contact info., then change FT/iMsg.

I have only me on my Apple ID account, but, I have a father and son in my contacts, both the same name, one goes by Jeff the other Jeffrey, they have different cell numbers, but the same home number listed, I used to have a problem when I'd sync my contacts to FB, it would sync the wrong one to FB...so there's another thing to look for.

Parallax

Does the parallax effect work on the 4S. If so, do you have to activate it, how do you do this? Or is it automatic? I don't see any effect on my phone. I also noticed that on a video of the parallax effect being showcased, the solid grey background of the task bar and folders look transparent. How do I get that as well. Esthetically, this is the only thing I really don't like about iOS 7. Dull solid grey backgrounds.

Answering my own question. But if anyone else can confirm, or explain in more detail, that would be greatly appreciated.

So I started playing around with diffrent wallpapers. It looks like the background of the task bar and folders aren't really translucent at all. They mimic the surrounding colours, so that it looks like it's translucent. Kind of like the way iTunes does for album covers. So if you have a wallpaper that's mostly black and grey in colour. iOS 7 mimics grey or dark grey. Bright pastelly colours like the ones in iOS 7, it mimics the colours within the area. With a very slight gradient at the top of the task bar matching the surrounding colour within that area, making it look like it's translucent.

As for the parallax effect, I used a pic of a friend of mine as a wallpaper, now I can see a little of the effect. It's very, very subtle. Unless your actually looking for it, and looking very hard, you won't notice it at all. I'm a little disappointed. Along with the faster drain on battery, even with background refresh, bluetooth and all other non-essentials turned off. Still drains a little faster than pervious iOS 6. Not bad mind you, but still a little disconcerning. Hopefully Apple will fix these issues in future updates. Just wondering why mine is very subtle, while others, you can clearly see the effect.

App doesn't show in Control Center. Control Center shows in apps. You can set to show in all apps or none at all; you can't only pick some.

Just to clarify what I am asking. When you open the control center ( maybe that is not what it is called) and you see your open apps. Some of them do not show a preview of the app. I would like to be able to force this to happen on specific apps.

Are you talking about recently used apps/multitasking (what you get when you tap the home button twice)? If so, you don't really control anything there--it just usually shows the last screen of the app that you were on before you exited it or switched away from it. Sometimes not even that. The only thing you might really be able to do is make sure you are on some particular screen you want to be on before you exit/switch away from the app, or perhaps just close the app (by swiping it up away from recent apps/multitasking view) to get rid of it.

Yes that is what I mean, ok that is what I thought.

How do you find text in safari?

In 6 you used the google search and there was an area right above the keyboard, which is gone now.

Type what you are searching for in the unified address/search bar and towards the bottom of the list of suggestions and everything that appears will be search results for that on the page.

Thanks! I looked there but didn't scroll down

Totally awesome .... I think

I have a few:

1a. I have taken some awesome slowmo videos on my 5s. When I texted the vid and tried to upload to Instagram it played it at full speed. How do I get it to show the slowmo?

1b. If slowmo is going to be used a lot by me wouldn't it make sense to ALWAYS record video in that setting? Doesn't appear that you can record in standard setting and then get the same effect.

2. I've finished my restore but quite a few album covers under music-->songs aren't showing they all show correctly under albums. Why?

3. Can I not use fingerprint-only for entry to my device?

4. Has anyone been using Camera+ for their main camera app? Seems like the new stock 5s camera app is almost (or is) on par with it. Anyone agree/disagree?

5. For those that do a fresh install to ensure best possible battery life, just jotting down which apps you use, email account settings, etc? Obviously have to go back in and get your settings in place. What about pics?

6. My daughters iPod running ios7 had iTunes Radio showing in bottom right of Music. She rebooted device and it's gone. Where did it go?

Think I've used up my time here. Thanks in advance.

After the phone has not been used for some minutes, the screen does not go black! Still shows the home screen on full brightness, it used to go black after a few seconds and save battery, anyone have this problem?
Thanks.

How come when I get text messages or alerts it pops up on a gray background? How come it's not my lock screen background? Is this normal?

Next destination

I just noticed something odd. I use my phone in French and in notification center , next destination does not exist ! It's no big deal for me as I didn't want to use it anyway. If I turn my phone to English , it's there !:confused:

Weather in Today view
