This certainly could have already been asked, but I don't want to sift through 17 pages. How do you Tweet and/or update your Facebook status via iOS? In iOS 6, we had the share buttons in the notification center. Now I can't seem to find them for the life or me. Unless that is something Apple got rid of in iOS 7.

That is gone in iOS 7. You can only do that from the Facebook and Twitter apps now.

So, iPad doesn't have the stock Weather app. Yet if I turn on Location Services, I can turn on Weather, and then get a weather update in the Notification Centre. So where's the weather data coming from, and is it accurate?

How to eliminate having to enter the pin code?

Thanks.
Settings>General>Passcode Lock> enter your passcode, then "Turn Passcode Off"

Scroll to the bottom of the Today notifications and it tells you in fine print. My iPhone 5 says from Yahoo, (which is also where the iPhone stock Weather app gets it from).

Traffic in iPhone 4

I still didn't get an answer and I can't seem to find one.

Did Apple just left out the "traffic" conditions for iPhone 4 users (Notification Center)? I can't seem to understand.

I don't have Frequent Locations option on preferences, but I do have the Traffic option.

Can anyone please explain me what's the point? I can't seem to understand why they would do this, since the iPhone 4 can track the locations just like any other...
Traffic conditions in Today tab of Notifications comes up after it has learned your frequent locations...I'm not sure how many days it takes (I have it turned off as I don't have a regular schedule), but, eventually it will tell you how long it will take to get to work today, using traffic data.

You can make sure you have Frequent Locations & Traffic turned on here: Settings>Privacy>Location Services> (scroll all the way down) System Services> on my iPhone 5 I have a switch for "Traffic" and at the bottom of this list is the Frequent Locations option. These have to both be turned on in order for iOS 7 to learn your frequent locations and give you that traffic update in notifications.

EDIT: Also, the "Next Destination" needs to be turned on in Notification Center. (The option doesn't show if you have frequent locations turned off).

(EDIT: also, to avoid assumptions: Today Summary has to be turned on here: Settings>Notification Center> "TODAY VIEW")

Is it possible to turn off the swipe from bottom up in specific applications? For example, when using Safari? This is really annoying when I'm trying to one-thumb swipe through a very long webpage (like a page of forum posts here on MacRumors) and instead I keep accidentally turning on my music player or flashlight.

I know I can globally turn it off for ALL apps (Settings >> Control Center >> Access Within Apps=OFF), and this also disables it from within Safari (as well as 3rd party apps). But I want to turn it off only for certain apps.

I'm assuming this will require a JB...but thought I'd ask given this is the "dumb questions" thread.....

I can not find iTunes Radio in my music app. I live in the US and also have a US Apple ID. The only way I can play the radio is by telling Siri to play it. I have no way of accessing it. How do I get it on the music app?

Weather shows in my Today view on ipad but not iphone - is this right?
iPad: Summary in Today view of Notifications. (scroll to bottom to see who it's provided by in fine print, typically Yahoo in the US)
iPhone: Summary in Today view of Notifications, and "Weather" app (by Yahoo) is installed as part of iOS 7. On iPhone if you touch the weather summary in notifications it will take you to the weather app for more detail. Here, touch the large temp number for humidity and other details.

No, not at this time. Knowing Apple, probably not planned for future update. This was discussed during the betas, and the option to access within apps was added, not there in first few betas, Control Center was always on, lockscreen was the only option. ...But, I too would like the ability to choose which apps...I have accidentally turned on "Do Not Disturb" mode while scrolling up, CC comes up.... We can make a suggestion here, maybe if they get enough, Apple will do it: http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html

Does Traffic conditions require Next Destination to be turned on in the Today View of Notification Centre?

Try closing Music app by going to multitask view, swipe up, home, now open Music again. If that doesn't work, give your iPhone a power cycle.

Note: iTunes Radio tab is not a permanent tab like the others in Music, it will only appear if it is available. If you have "Use Cellular Data" turned off here: Settings>iTunes & App Store> then it will only work over wifi, will disappear when no wifi. If it is turned on, but you are traveling and do not have 3G or better data connection, it will stop/not show. If, for some reason, the server/iTunes Radio network is unavailable, it will not show, disappear.

*Those that don't have unlimited data or want to limit data use so as not to get throttled:
-Want to use cell data for iTunes Radio, but not automatic App Updates or the other items here? Set it this way:
Settings>iTunes & App Store> turn on "Use Cellular Data", "Updates", etc.
then:
Settings>Cellular>App Store (turn off), iBooks (turn off), iTunes Store (turn off), Music (ON)—here also shows how much data you are using (if you Reset Statistics on the same day your monthly billing changes, you can track your monthly data usage).

Setting things this way turns on Automatic Updates and such, but limits them to wifi only, while allowing you to use iTunes Radio over cell data.

Yes. (I'm sorry, I have the whole bit turned off, so this option doesn't show.)

App Update answers

None of my apps have updated since I upgraded to iOS7 on Friday. I don't have auto updating set yet just to see if apps will still come up with update notices. Nothing. Anyone else notice this?
App updates require Apple approval. Typically, no app updates will go through on weekends.
WiFi. iPhone 5. I power down every night. I noticed that I updated an app in Friday just before downloading iOS7 and it still shows up in the update center with the OPEN square next to it. It won't go away. App updated correctly. Weird.
My apologies if this has already been asked. I do not have automatic updates activated. So, when I manually update an app on the "Updates" tab of the App Store, the update goes smoothly. In IOS 6, however, the app that needed to be updated would disappear after the update was done. Now, in IOS 7, it just stays there and says "open." Is there a way to make the Apps that have been updated disappear from this page? Am I missing something obvious?
If you update apps manually or automatically, on your idevice w/iOS 7, it will show in Updates tab of App Store app, with "Open" instead of "update" next to it, and the number flag will go away. It will stay there for 2 weeks. This was discussed much during betas. There is no option, at this time, to delete, they will just go away after 2 weeks. Tell your OCD it has to wait ;).

If you update apps via wired iTunes sync, these updates will not show here.

I asked this earlier but maybe someone knows the answer now. How come when I get text messages or alerts it pops up on a gray background? How come it's not my lock screen background? Is this normal?

I just upgraded my iPhone 4 to iOS 7 and everything went well until it tried to boot for the first time. It briefly shows the "Update Complete" page with the "slide to configure" at the bottom then immediately restarts and goes back to the Apple screen, vibrates, then eventually shows the "Update Complete" again, then restarts...
I've tried turning the phone off and it allowed that once but then it immediately and automatically comes back on; starting the same loop again.
I'd be content to restore iOS 6... but can't get out of this loop.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I would try putting your iPhone in DFU mode, then doing a new iOS 7 install. If you are not sure how to do this, a search should be easy find, or I can post a video instruction link. ...If your iPhone was jailbroken at some time, this may fix things, if not, I would refer you to the Jailbreak section of this forum.

Always be sure you have a backup before attempting this or any other way of updating your iPhone. http://www.macworld.com/article/2046747/bugs-and-fixes-back-up-to-avoid-iphone-disasters.html
hi,..on ios 6 on my ipad, would have 3 columns, when looking at bookmarks, now I only see two and the column with recent history of pages looked at is gone,

where can i find the history in safari and clear that history for that matter?

surely I must be overlooking something,..

squash
(on my iPhone 5 at least)

in Safari, click on the Bookmarks icon & Bookmarks tab. You should see a list, starting with "Favorites", next "History" click here to see history, hit "clear" at bottom to clear.

You can also clear history here:

Settings>Safari> "Clear History" & "Clear Cookies and Data" options in blue text.

How do I delete the music that downloaded to my phone without my consent? I can't swipe to delete these songs, which is ridiculous.

repost - really curious,..

Click the icon immediately to the right of the web page address, it looks like an opened book.

History is an option and after chosen, a clear option is on the bottom of all on the list.

AppleRobert,

Thanks for yr suggestion; unfortunately, the 'opened boo' only provides saved bookmarks and items to read later, no History.

Any other suggestions?

Still feels silly not being able to find the History-list of sites visited in Safari.
Anybody else??

What is a default Dictionary setup in Safari?

I somehow installed pretty much every dictionaries listed in the Dictionary Manage in Safari...
Can someone tell me a default dictionary? Is it Apple or New Oxford American Dictionary?
Or both?

You can't delete it because it's not actually on your phone:

If you have iTunes Match, it will show all your iCloud stored music.

Also, iOS 7 can show music from all your devices using that Apple ID. (This includes iTunes on your computer).

These will have an iCloud cloud to the right of the track.

Check these settings:
Settings>iTunes & App Store> "SHOW ALL" >Music-OFF
Settings>Music>Show All Music-OFF
(iTunes Match can be switched on/off here also)

Turning "Show All Music" off should hide these tracks. (I'm not sure about iTunes Match as I do not have it, but, I would assume turning it off would hide those tracks also). Now you should only see tracks you are syncing and are actually on your phone.

I'm not sure why there are two places for this, maybe an oversight, as switching it in one place seems to switch both. (Apple may change this so they are in one place in future 7.x.x update.)

It's possible you are looking inside a bookmark folder. In top left corner next to Boomarks Menu, in blue, is there an < and text: "Bookmarks"? Click on this until it is no longer there.

In the Bookmarks tab you should see:
Favorites (star icon to left)
History (clock icon to left)
...and then various bookmarks/folders that are shared with safari on other devices on you Apple ID.

(BTW, if you have a twitter account and have signed in under Settings>Twitter, you should also have a @ tab...this tab shows all tweets in your feed that have a URL.)

I'm having an extreme problem updating my Iphone to IOS7. So far everytime I need to update an IOS, it usually crashes on my comp and this time it wasn't any different. The only difference is that I have tried to system restore my IPhone 4S with the new IOS 7.0 and so far, it's stuck in a endless loop of "Preparing Phone for system restore" I left it on for 4-5 hours thinking the IOS was a big file and so far, its stuck uploading. I'm ready to return my 4S to Apple, as I'm getting fed up trying to system restore my phone for the 5th time now. I'm getting frustrated and hope somebody can provide some solutions.
I know this was posted several days ago, so I hope I'm not too late, but, it sounds like maybe you don't have the latest iTunes? You need iTunes 11.1. I would download and install this and then restart your computer and try again.

Just curious, anyone found a quick way to copy the URL of the current tab they are on in Safari? It seems that when you click on the address bar it will select the URL, but if you want to actually copy you'd need to actually tap again to unselect it and then double tap or tap and hold to get the selection options to come up, select "Select All", and only then get the option to Copy. Seems like a few too many steps especially when the URL is already all selected the first time you click on the address bar.
