I received my iPhone 4 the day before launch via fedex so it can happen but it’s unlikely. That year was special for preorders in many ways.

Same happened to me one year, it may have been the 4, can’t remember but all the others have been on launch day by special FedEx currier which is all he does, deliver launch day phones.

Is there a difference between using ATT Next and using Apple's seemingly identical 24 month-trade in after 12 month plan?
The AT&T iPhone will be locked (SIM), the one bought from Apple IUP is not locked to AT&T: You can swap SIMs as many times as you like. Oh, and the resale value of unlocked phones is higher

I ordered at 3am last night but apparently the ATT store didn’t put my apartment number on my billing address and I’m a new customer so I couldn’t change it myself for 30 days. Chat rep had to cancel my order and couldn’t change my billing address for some reason but did put the correct shipping address. I called this morning and they verified my apartment number was on the shipping address just not my billing address. Guess we will find out.

This is my first iPhone pre-order with AT&T. Do they ship early? Or will we get them Friday 9/21 as the order says?
Just curious what to expect from AT&T.

Very unlikely that you get it early. It happened one year, I think the iPhone 4 release.

Ordered two 256 excess maxxes and two watches. Other than having to place each order individually, it went really smooth.

Okay, so I'm a mit miffed. I was on my Mac on Safari and it allowed me to start at 12:03 AM PST... tried THREE times and it kept saying "ERROR trying to process you order." I was getting a 256 gig space Gray Max AT&T. At 10 after I said F it and went to bed.

Then I picked up my phone and used the Apple Store app. It went through just fine but now I'm stuck with a Sept 28-Oct 5 delivery. Oh... and while checking out, it gave me the option to pick up at the store on the 21st... so I tried that, and then it immediately said sorry no available slots after I picked my slot. GRRR.

This was my first attempt at a late night (early morning?) pre-order and it will also be my last. Next year I'm going to get a Note 10.

I was on the app at 12:01 PST and ATT would not let me order it. They were trying to make me pay full price when I know for sure I'm eligible for 7 Lines. Just woke up 20 min ago and ordered it. It says September 21st delivery date

does anybody know how att handles extra payments? ATT wants me to pay 3 installments to get me up to 50%, but I already have the 10th on my September bill Sep/18th, if I pay 3x now and then September bill I will end up with an extra payment.

Do I get a refund on my next bill? Chat seems super busy and haven't showed up yet for me in 15 minutes

I'm sure anything extra will be credited accordingly. Worst case you end up calling in to get it done.

Just getting to the forum. Today.
AT&T was live at 6 minutes before preorder launch. So I preordered my Gold Max from AT&T. Instead of Apple this year. I’ve only received a order number email at 2:00am central time. No way to check my order on At&T so I called them. They said they got my order and it should be delivered on the 21st. Time to order my cases and tempered glass screen protectors.

The AT&T site is still showing 9/21 delivery for all models. You can chance cancelling the order with apple and then placing one with AT&T so you can get your phone on launch day.

I'm psyched. XSM Space Gray coming next Friday. I DID have an issue with the "Give Back" page to get a refund for my 8+, it didn't seem to load right and go though.

On hold with Apple for over 90 min, which I expected and understand... They said I can just go to Apple store next week, show them the receipt - or they probably have it in the system. Give back the 8+, get the refund on the spot.

I did get through Apple Care also, got a refund on the 1 year remaining of the 2 year Apple Care on my soon to be former 8+ The money back takes out the slight sticker shock of these new phones. :)

After my failures with the Apple website, I went to the AT&T site... and it still said an hour before pre-order (so, 1 AM).

Jay... yeah I noticed it was showing that, but with my luck, I'd cancel this order, then wouldn't be able to place on from them, OR would end up with the same or longer delivery time. I'll just stick with this for now.

Glad to hear. This is my first time ordering direct from AT&T. In the past I have always gone through apple so I wasn't sure if the date could change since my order status says delivered by 9/21.
This is the second time I order from AT&T. I’ve ordered more times via Apple. The first time I ordered from AT&T the phone arrived on the launch day as expected. I don’t expect this time, which I ordered from AT&T, to be any different.

Easiest preorder ever. Finished ordering mine by 11:52pm and my husband’s by 11:54pm (PT). Way to go, AT&T!

Same here. AT&T just told me to wait a moment after the countdown finished and I was able to order very quickly.

I ordered a MAX for me last night at pre-order time and went right thru for the 21st! Needed to order another one for GF and I tried for over an hour and would not process the payment so I went to bed-----This morning 7 hours later I went to ATT and went to her cart and ordered phone right away and STILL have it coming the 21st, I got lucky on that one! Both Max-Grey-256

Just ordered a Max at 1230PM EST today and got a delivery date of the 21st. Does anyone know if ATT has kept true to these dates in the past? This is the first time I ordered from ATT directly.

They're normally either spot on or early (early if you have a later date than launch day). Last year I didn't get launch day delivery, and it took me a few weeks after launch to actually receive it but it was before the projected date. I'm really surprised they still have stock though.

Anyone else charge their tax on their future bill? Ordered from ATT site and never entered any card info. The site was very slow and never completely loaded all the pages. I remember I got that option though.

I received the charge 5 1/2 hrs after I placed my order directly to my credit card. Never received it on my bill. The only thing you would receive on your bill is the activation charge (which is BS BTW) if applicable.
