How do you know if your preorder is processing correctly? I just switched to ATT with this preorder and my first order emailed me with action required. The email said to call and when I did They had no explanation and had to cancel the order. I submitted a new order. I am not trying to have hold after hold on my funds due to ATT errors.

Wow! My son decided to get the Gold 256 Max so I went on Apple to order (did mine at 3am last night) and it wasn’t available until the 28th - 5th. Went on the ATT app and it is still available for delivery on the 21st :p:) I can’t believe it  that was really nice for a change. Wish I would have known and gotten a lot more sleep last night :D:D:D can’t wait for next Friday and super excited to have a bigger screen again:cool:

A huge load has been lifted off of me. So listen to my tale of woe and victory.

I’m in the AT&T upgrade program and am upgrading from an iPhone X to an iPhone XS Max. Last night at 2:01 AM I got into the AT&T order site and ordered my upgrade phone. I was ecstatic to get in so quickly and just as quickly and easily placed my order. Hurrahs!!

I then went to this site to brag about my success and you can see my post #104 on this thread. After I finished the post I went into my AT&T account to check on my order before going back to bed, and saw that horrors upon horrors, in my rush to place the order, I had ordered the wrong phone!!! I ordered an iPhone XS instead of the XS Max. I cancelled the order and thought all was lost as I would have to wait forever to get it. I finally reordered the correct phone, and got a confirmation #, that still gave a delivery date of 9/ 21. I doubted this date as I ordered so late and waited for the confirmation e-mail. I just now received the e-mail, which confirms the 9/21 date, so evidently everything has worked out OK.

Apple must have made a ton of these phones that it allows me to order outside of the normal 1hour order window and still get a 9/21 delivery date. It may have helped that I ordered a Silver 512GB unit which according to the voting is not that popular.

Now to find a case for it.

The SG 512 is actually the only phone right now that has a pushed delivery date. I would of thought the 64 or 256 would of been the first to slip. I agree I think Apple finally got smart and made enough this year.

I ordered pretty late as well and still got the 9/21 date. Yay!

Okay, so I'm a mit miffed. I was on my Mac on Safari and it allowed me to start at 12:03 AM PST... tried THREE times and it kept saying "ERROR trying to process you order." I was getting a 256 gig space Gray Max AT&T. At 10 after I said F it and went to bed.

Then I picked up my phone and used the Apple Store app. It went through just fine but now I'm stuck with a Sept 28-Oct 5 delivery. Oh... and while checking out, it gave me the option to pick up at the store on the 21st... so I tried that, and then it immediately said sorry no available slots after I picked my slot. GRRR.

This was my first attempt at a late night (early morning?) pre-order and it will also be my last. Next year I'm going to get a Note 10.

Still wouldnt be surprised if you get it on the 21st. Sucks you got locked up in a website error but these things happen when there are so many people pinging a website. It wasn’t the Mac or Safari that caused the issue. Just the sites being hammered at once. Hopefully it works out for you but one things for sure. You so t have any trouble pre ordering the Note 10 since demand won’t be high.

I stayed up until midnight last night to pre-order from Apple and got a delivery date of Sept 25 - Oct 6th or something along those lines. I decided to cancel the order because I decided I didn't need the 256 GB version and the ship date wasn't ideal. When I went to re-order the 64 GB version the site started giving me problems so I said screw it I'll just order through ATT, my carrier anyway. Got the 64 GB and a delivery date of Sept 21. lol Well I guess that worked out.

I just checked the site and they still have phones with the delivery date of 9/21, but has a disclaimer saying delivery date subject to change. I wonder if everyone with a 9/21 date will actually get there's then.

Actually my first order had that disclaimer as well, but I believe that is there for those who will have later delivery dates than 9/21. With them the dates can move up, I had this happen last year when my date was moved up a week.

The SG 256 is the one that is past the 21st and your right it’s the only model of them all that doesn’t show the 21st.

Can anybody explain to me how the ATT preorder works I switched from T-Mobile. Mine says in progress online but I have no confirmation email. how many emails and order status changes do you see before the order ships. I want to know so I can keep an eye on it. I already had one ATT that had issues that ATT couldn’t explain. They had to cancel it and I had to reorder.

I think they say that with every phone, When I place an order for my parents iPhone X in January it had the disclaimer saying that the ship and delivery date could change at any time.

Yes I think this is cover any mess ups just Incase so you can’t say you were promised your phone on the 21st.

I ordered an Apple Watch S4 but the dates are pretty far from now for delivery. I checked my bank account online and there was a hold for the sales tax collected.

I decided to cancel about 30 minutes after I placed the order. The hold on my debit card was almost immediately dropped.
[doublepost=1536985415][/doublepost]Here in South Florida the pickup options for launch day are almost all gone except one which is in Miami Beach. All stores had launch day pickup several hours after preorders started. They were only about 50% gone 12 hours after preorders.

The Apple Store 1 mile from my home(Apple Aventura,FL) has usually had pickups continuing the whole day, with a constant queue, during launch.

Correction its the 256

I understand why they put the disclaimer there, but I'm wondering if they actually did have enough stock and everything or if they're playing it by ear and will start pushing dates back.

I think they have the allotted stock already especially since it hasnt been pushed yet. You can purchase the phones now and have a delivery of the 21st, I would think if they were playing it by ear they would of already pushed all the dates.

After thinking it over, I decided to pre-order a 512GB Black/Space Grey XS Max(weird name), estimated delivery of the 21st, which is only like 6 days away, excited to get a 512GB iPhone, yes I need the space, I consume media on my phone, and a 6.5 inch screen will help, and the notch I'll learn to like or love.

Thankfully Apple made more of them this time around, I sat out last yr, have had my 7+ for 2 yrs, paid off, will either sell or give to my Sister or Mother, they could use a new phone, Sister has a 6+, Mom a 6S+

Same thing happened to me. I got a email saying I needed to resubmit my order. They had to cancel and reorder my phone. Still same delivery date. 9/21.

Question for those who got their iPhones on release day, when did you receive shipping confirmation? I have the first 2 emails, just wondering when they usually send out tracking confirmation email.
