I am getting paranoid now that people are getting preparing to ship while I am still in progress. Even though I probably shouldn't be

Don't worry, Turk. (Have you seen the movie, "The Man"? Re: Turk.) I'm sure your order is fine. I placed three iPhone orders, and the second one says preparing to ship. The other two still say In progress. AT&T is notorious for crappy order status updates. In case you didn't see the link pst23 posted, look at the following link. It seems more encouraging than the order status...

Why everybody getting worry too much ...
Now thru Wednesday if we dont see prepare for ship on status that mean 1-2 weeks delay

If we see prepare for ship that mean will arrive 9/21 and latest 9/22 .....

prior to this year i have been with sprint and i pre ordered and always got my phone on launch day this my first year with att and i hope its the same with them but i see mine is still saying in process . i use to go to best buy on launch day it was always horrible had to settle for what they had in stock

I had a silver X, I thought I would go with the space grey Max this year. I thought about the gold, but I'm not sure I'd like it.

I didn't order until yesterday, so hopefully I get it on Friday.

Canceled my Next 30 order and placed a new one for Next 24. Expected delivery was 9/21, but is now 9/24 to 10/1. Not a big deal to me as my iPhone 8 Plus will be fine for one more week.

This was for a 512 GB XS Max.

Hey, does anyone know how i'm able to change the installment plan option from 30 to 24? I accidentally picked the wrong one when quickly ordering, and now I need to change it.
I did that last year. Talking to reps on the phone got me nowhere. It was easier to go to the AT&T store so they can call it in to fix.

Yes I just checked the dates look to have slipped past launch day on all colors 256 and 512 models.

Yeah I saw that, was thinking about going with the 512 Silver. It's my wife's upgrade and she doesn't want the silver, but I was on the fence between 256 and 512 and don't care about color, so was considering just switching SIMs when we get them.

That said, now I can't get to the offending order to cancel it so maybe I should just wait. Why does ATT have to be such a huge hassle every single year?

I had the same problem with the cancel button when I was told to call about my order twice. You will have to call to cancel it unfortunately unless chat can do it if they are open.

I would do it and then try the store after you get it don’t open it.Try to exchange it and if no one has it just keep it.

Finally got it to cancel actually, now just gotta hope the upgrade eligibility resets so I don't have to deal with ATT customer support at 5AM before work.

lol no can't say I've seen that one.

I think part of my paranoia because I only got the "second" e-mail, the one with Here's an update on your order. But I never got whatever the first one is.

I'm sure I'll be fine.

As a side note, I LOVE this angst-filled time period when were all waiting on our phones lol. Its nice to have people to share my emotions with, as my fiance is an android user with a Note 9 that he didnt wake up at 3am to order and still got day 1 lol.

Ya thats one thing Android users have over iPhone users. Not enough people want them to ever have to worry about lack of product. I don't mean that as a jab at Android users at all. It's just two different animals.

So doing *6737# and following the text promps I get this backorder text. If I remember correctly it gets to this state right before I get a tracking number! At least that is how it was last year

I laugh at myself every year.... when I pre-order the phone, I know it's only a week away from me getting the phone, but it always seems like it is the longest week ever. I just looked at the calendar and was like UGH ITS ONLY BEEN 3 DAYS?! IT FEELS LIKE AN ETERNITY SINCE I PLACED MY PRE-ORDER LOL.
