i thought with att it was only one line per order, so two phones is technically two orders.
[doublepost=1537276421][/doublepost]

both my 9/15 maxs show backordered from 6737 and PTS on att.com now
Well, I only have one order number and I did them together when ordering.

Folks, calm down. Start freaking out when you see others in this thread saying they have tracking numbers. No one thus far, in the AT&T thread has said they received it, so chill. As noted most times we those numbers on Weds/Day before, so just patience.

Actually...don't even freak out then. AT&T and order updates are awful. Freak out Friday at 8:01pm when you don't have your phone. I know it's hard...but trust the process.

Actually... not even. Last time my phone got delivered at 9pmish for some reason!

Preparing to ship
iPhone XS Max 256GB gold
ordered 9/14/18 9:44:14pm ET

Is there a way to use a reference number to track items on Fedex? Similar to UPS?

That does not work for att orders

I’ve read that text and online status may differ.

Maybe your actual phone isn’t input into their inventory check but it is ready to be just before it prepares to ship out?
Once again for those in the back row...

***BACKORDERED MEANS YOUR PHONE IS ABOUT TO SHIP.***

I am sure most of us are in this boat already, but YAY we are also preparing to ship as of last night!!!

Silver 512gb Max
SG 256gb Max

Horrible ordering experience so far.

I ordered my iPhone XS on Friday at 3:39am, using AT&T Next through teh iPhone AT&T app. Everything on the app worked great. Received a confirmation of the order and all was good. Throughout the day I paid a few bills and went to the grocery store. About 8:30 I get a phone message and it was from my bank fraud department wanting me to call to go over recent charges. OK, the one charge they declined was for the sales tax on the phone order which had been submitted to the bank around 8:15pm. The order was placed at 3:39AM. The bank said to have them resubmit the charge and they will let it go through now that they are aware it was not fraud. I contacted AT&T through chat on my AT&T.com and chatted with a nice lady who saw what was going on she stated not to worry. They would most likely try and resubmit the charge, but if they didn't the charge would just be on my next bill. I wasn't buying that but she had a supervisor come on and he assured me of the same thing. They even sent me a transcript of our chats so aI was more at ease with this.

Sunday Night, around 9pm, I get an email from AT&T asking me to call them at the number given as soon as possible or my order would be cancelled. Of course the email received was after the phone line was closed for the day. I called the next morning at about 8:05am (they opened at 8am)and that is where the nightmare began. I explained what happened to the agent and she saw that in the notes left from the chat on Friday night and instead of just reprocessing the charge (Which had not been done yet). She proceeded to cancel and then re-order the phone. She also wanted me to get the EMIE numbers for the phone, the serial number and have me turn off the Find My iPhone feature. I then had to give the same credit card number. At one point she wanted me to turn off the phone and restart it. I asked why, that would disconnect the call and her reply was "Oh yeah that is right, don't do that". After about 75 minutes on the phone with them my phone is supposedly re-ordered, and their confirmation email still says I will get it on the 21st as was noted on the original cancelled order.

I have my doubts that I will get the phone on Friday, have not received anything since getting the email confirming the original order being cancelled and then the email and text confirming the new order. The new order does state that delivery is expected to be on 9/21. We shall see.

Next time, I think I will just go and order the phone from Apple directly.

AT&T primarily uses FedEx and a signature is determined by the driver based on your area.

I have pre-ordered for the past 5+ phones and have not been home for delivery. Once your order ships, an option will show up to pre-sign for delivery. Sign the form, hang it on the door and they will leave it. In my experience this has worked flawlessly every year.

If your order shows the 21st for delivery then you will get it on the 21st. Only reason you wont get it on that time is another billing issue or a carrier delay.

I believe during the past years ATT ordering has been on par with Apple. Only reason I used both is because one phone had 21st on att and late sept for apple.com same color and storage. The only issues I have seen here in years was due to credit card issues. And that is not ATTs department.

It's been chewed up every year. Tracking for ATT will be visible Wednesday evening or Thursday morning latest. I could be wrong, but ATT's units are bulk delivered and sorted by FedEx or other provider. Once they are in Texas.

My other phone is through Apple and I had UPS tracking since Sunday. Att is preparing to ship. Either way everyone here will have theirs Friday 21st.

That’s a pretty ruff experience. Sounds like you will still get your phone on Friday. You should be good. Seems like your bank was being overprotective. Better safe than sorry I guess. Good vibes to your phone arriving on Friday.

I’ve never needed a signature for my previous iPhone delivery’s.
If I recall Apple.com orders absolutely required a signature that you could waive by printing a form and posting it for the driver.

ATT may not be as stringent then.

I live in a condo where I have a valet delivery station and packages get received and stored for me to pickup anytime. No porch pirate problem for me.
